KANE VS. BRAY WYATT (RING OF FIRE)

Before the match, The Miz introduced the show as Summerslam's host. He hypes CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar and John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan (here) before being interrupted by Fandango and Summer Rae dancing on the stage. That way he gets to use his “really, really, REALLY!?” catchphrase. The opening video for the show hypes the same 2 matches before JoJo sings the National Anthem. John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole are on commentary.

The Ring of fire match is different to an inferno match because instead of setting your opponent on fire, you simply win by pinfall or submission in the ring. The flames are just to keep The Wyatt Family away from the ring, as they have been attacking Kane every chance they get. This match is Bray Wyatt's in-ring debut. Kane enters first, which makes sense since that way he can't be ambushed on the way to the ring.

KANE VS. BRAY WYATT (Ring of Fire)
WWE Summerslam 2013 (18th August 2013)

The bell rings and the flames go up, well a few inches. There's even a fireman at ringside for safety reasons. Kane catches Bray Wyatt and sends him into the corner, lefts and rights before Wyatt's head meets the top turnbuckle on the other side. Kane clotheslines Wyatt down and the flames jump in the air. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan get close to the ring and they jump up again. Kane with an uppercut to Wyatt sends him near the ropes, but he stumbles away and to the relative safety of the corner. Wyatt gets a headbutt and a right hand but Kane blocks the suplex, hitting one of his own. Kane gets a snapmare and running dropkick, then dodges a running boot by Wyatt, who again has to avoid the flames. Bray Wyatt is sent into the corner but avoids the charge, hitting Kane with an avalanche in the corner. He knocks Kane down with a running attack and fluffs a kick that Kane sells anyway. Bray Wyatt with some mounted punches on the mat and gouges at Kane's mask as Luke Harper tries to find an opening in the ring somewhere.

Kane is brought to his feet and grabs Wyatt around the throat, Wyatt fights out of it but is knocked down with a boot. Kane hits corner clotheslines and a sidewalk slam but runs into a back elbow by Wyatt in the corner. Bray Wyatt attacks Kane from behind and asks for help. Luke Harper grabs a kendo stick but doesn't think to throw it over the flames so it's set on fire as he gets close to the ring. The fire is put out and Kane hits a chokeslam in the ring. Erick Rowan uses one of the fire extinguishers but the flames quickly spread to the spot he engulfed before he can get in the ring. Kane hits a second chokeslam and then a third, signaling for the end. Rowan and Harper use an asbestos blanket to cover an area of the railing but eat right hands from Kane. Rowan is goozled but a boot from Luke Harper knocks Kane down. The fans chant for Undertaker, but in 2015 I don't think he's rushing to the ring, even if it is his brother getting beaten up. Harper and Rowan ambush Kane on the mat. Luke Harper hits the discus clothesline before Rowan hits a running splash and they bring Wyatt over to Kane. They hold Kane in place until Wyatt is ready to hit Sister Abigail to finish the match.

WINNER: BRAY WYATT

They were pretty limited by the stipulation of the match and The Wyatt Family looked pretty foolish until the end. In the same respect they shouldn't have been allowed near the blanket that helped in the end. This match wasn't the best to start the show with but logistically I see why they did it. [*] 1/10

After the match, Harper and Rowan send a ringing through Kane's ears using the gap in the ring steps in front of Bray Wyatt in his rocking chair before carrying Kane away. We go back to Josh Matthews with his panel of Booker T, Shawn Michaels and Vickie Guerrero, who was the General Manager of Smackdown at the time.
