TEAM VENIS VS. TEAM BULLDOG

This match has two of the most random teams in Survivor Series history. Although the trio of Mean Street Possee (Joey Abs, Pete Gas and Rodney) was in itself strange. Did WWF really hate Bulldog's run with The Rock that much? It looks like a way to get the Hardcore championship division on the card with no rhyme or reason. Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary as always. British Bulldog is the European champion at this time and waits for his teammates at the top of the ramp.

Steve Blackman, Gangrel, Val Venis & Mark Henry VS. British Bulldog & Mean Street Possee
(Traditional Survivor Series match)
WWF Survivor Series 1999 (14th November 1999)

British Bulldog and Val Venis start, they lock up and Venis is sent off the ropes from a headlock, running through Bulldog with a shoulder tackle. Bulldog goes prone, Venis blocks a hip toss and sends Bulldog over, but released him really early. British Bulldog tags out to one of the posse but Val Venis' posing brings him back in. British Bulldog blocks a suplex, holding Venis in the air for a few seconds before hitting his own and tagging Pete Gas back in. Pete lays in boots and strikes but gets sent off the ropes. Val Venis ducks too early and gets kicked, Pete Gas trips him and sends him into the turnbuckle. Pete Gas gets a nearfall from a suplex but gets sent into the corner. Venis follows him with a clothesline and a bulldog brings him out of the corner. Steve Blackman gets the tag. Pete Gas tries to fire back but is dropped with a combination of kicks, Steve Blackman irish whips Pete Gas into the ropes and he runs into a bicycle kick for the first elimination.

Rodney comes in, ducking a kick by Blackman and clotheslining him down. He gets in some shots but misses an elbow drop, Steve Blackman sends him into the ropes and runs through him covers for 2 and tags in Gangrel who sends Rodney into the turnbuckle. Rodney is sent from corner to corner but gets a nearfall from the slowest crucifix attempt I remember seeing. Gangrel is knocked down with a clothesline but gets back on the attack sending Rodney into the corner. Rodney reverses an irish whip and Joey Abs takes the cheap shot, Rodney holds Gangrel but a wild swing by Joey Abs hits the wrong person. Gangrel hits the elevated DDT for the elimination. British Bulldog's face on the apron is priceless as Joey Abs jumps Gangrel from behind, a suplex gets Abs a nearfall. Gangrel blocks a hip toss and sends Joey Abs over with a belly to belly suplex, tagging out to Mark Henry. Mark Henry starts with rights but gets stun gunned on the top rope. Ironically as commentary were talking about Henry's powerlifting credentials.

Joey Abs chokes Henry across the middle rope, he charges at Henry but ends up straddling the rope, getting taken down with a clothesline. Mark Henry sets Abs up across the middle rope and slides through the ropes himself, bringing Joey out to the floor. He throws Joey back in the ring for the elimination. British Bulldog attacks Henry with right hands, he gets sent off the ropes and thrown in the air to freefall, that looked scary for Bulldog. Gangrel gets the tag and climbs to the top rope, but Bulldog cuts him off with a right hand. British Bulldog hits a superplex on Gangrel to make it 1 vs 3. Steve Blackman back in with kicks and a backbreaker. He suplexes British Bulldog but makes the mistake of leaving the ground, eating shit on a falling headbutt from the second rope. We get a replay of Mark Henry jamming Bulldog's shoulderblade through his own body as Bulldog sends Blackman across the ring and gets caught in a roll-up for 2. Steve Blackman argues with the referee allowing Bulldog to hit him with the fisherman suplex for the elimination.

British Bulldog is quick to his feet but still gets caught with a clothesline by Venis. Venis stomps at Bulldog and brings him to his feet, British Bulldog is sent off the ropes but catches Val Venis in a sunset flip, Mark Henry breaks it up. Venis and Mark Henry try to double team British Bulldog but he ducks the back elbow and knocks them down with a double clothesline. He goes after both of them with right hands, but Venis catches him with a kick to the gut. Val Venis gets a nearfall from an inside cradle and argues with the referee. British Bulldog drags Val Venis out through the ropes and shoves Mark Henry but gets sent into the corner. Henry squashes Bulldog with an avalanche in the corner and slams him as Val Venis has the referee's attention. A standing splash by Mark Henry followed by the Money Shot by Val Venis finishes it.

WINNERS: VAL VENIS & MARK HENRY

It of course, took 30 seconds for the Montreal Screwjob to get mentioned in this match. It had no real purpose and it would have been better for no Mean Street Posse and Bulldog defending his European title, at least Val Venis' team all got some time to shine.– As a match it's * but personally, I'd rate it 0.5/10
