CHRISTOPHER DANIELS VS. STING

Mike Tenay and Don West are on commentary. He explains that Christopher Daniels went to Sting for guidance but took the guidance the wrong way. That seems like half an explanation. Sting propels down from the ceiling into the ring and Mike Tenay treats it like he got an amazing entrance with a full stage.
CHRISTOPHER DANIELS VS. STING
TNA Slammiversary 2007 (17th June 2007)

Christopher Daniels starts by talking trash, jabbing Sting in the chest. Sting pushes his finger away but Daniels knees him in the gut. Sting shoves Daniels to escape a headlock but Daniels doesn't move. Sting lifts Daniels in a military press but Daniels slips down the back. Sting slaps on a headlock but is sent into the ropes, knocking Daniels down. Christopher Daniels goes prone then attempts a hip toss but it's blocked, Sting hits his attempt. Christopher Daniels is sent across the ring with another hip toss and Sting knocks him down with a dropkick. Sting kicks the leg as Daniels gets to his feet, but Christopher Daniels gets to the ropes before the Scorpion deathlock is in properly. Christopher Daniels goes to the outside for a break, but Sting is ready as he gets on the apron, knocking him to the floor with a back elbow and diving from the apron with a clothesline. Christopher Daniels cuts Sting off as they get back on the apron and slingshots him down into the guardrail. Christopher Daniels sends Sting into the guard rail for a second time and brings him back in the ring for a nearfall.

Christopher Daniels hits a gutbuster and sends Sting into the corner, following with a running knee strike. Sting fights out of the corner, but Daniels punches away at his ribs and rams his shoulder into Sting's midsection. Christopher Daniels stomps at Sting and stands on his chest, taunting the crowd. He takes it back to the corner with more shoulder attacks but Sting fights back. Christopher Daniels reverses an irish whip but can't get Sting over for a hip toss, so he rakes at the face. He tries to transition into an abdominal stretch but Earl Hebner makes him break it. Christopher Daniels argues with Hebner and chest bumps him, but turns his attention back to Sting. He slams Sting in place and hits the sit-down springboard moonsault off the top rope for a nearfall. Sting's head is sent into the top turnbuckle, then Daniels sends him across the ring to set up for a Stinger splash, mocking Sting after the move. Sting no-sells the disrespect and treats Daniels' punches the same way. He blocks a right and hits a combination of his own, backing Daniels into the ropes. Christopher Daniels rebounds into an inverted atomic drop and is knocked down by a pair of clotheslines. The third clothesline misses but Sting comes back with a facebuster and covers for 2. Christopher Daniels is sent into the corner, but explodes back out with a running calf kick. He sets Sting up for the Angels Wings but Sting powers out with a backdrop. He sends Daniels into the corner but charges into knees. Sting counters the Last Rites into a Scorpion death drop for the win.

WINNER: STING

This was a basic match with no real flow. I don't remember thinking too much of the story at the time which is now compounded with not remembering too much anyway. However, I'm glad I forgot about it. Terrible *½ match. 0/5 Personal Rating
