Another Bound for Glory, another hardcore match for Abyss. This time TNA travelled to Japan due to their working relationship with Wrestle-1 Wrestling. Abyss would team with Tommy Dreamer to face Team 3D in a hardcore tag team match. Taz and Mike Tenay are on commentary for this match. As Dreamer enters Taz talks about his history with Team 3D going back nearly 20 years. He's wearing gear that pays homage to Terry Funk tonight to mark Funk's 50 years in Japan. Abyss joins him in the ring, followed by Team 3D, entering through the crowd with a chair each. Taz gushes over The Road Warriors during their entrance. How about the people in the match? Jeremy Borash does the introductions in the ring. “We want tables” chant starts up and Tommy Dreamer shakes hands with Team 3D.

Tommy and Brother Devon start the match. They lock up and Devon goes behind, Dreamer switches but Devon gets a headlock at takes Dreamer down, Dreamer gets the headscissors and Devon kicks out. Tenay goes over Team 3D's tag team accomplishments as they each miss an elbow drop and duck a right hand, leading to a stand-off. Abyss gets a blind tag and asks for Bully Ray. Abyss gets what he wants as Mike Tenay runs down some hardcore legends. Bully Ray and Abyss trade right hands, Bully gets the advantage so Abyss cuts him off with a knee to the gut, Abyss runs into a Rock Bottom by Bully Ray but gets back up. Abyss hits a chokeslam but Bully's straight to his feet. They collide with clotheslines and Bully's first to his feet. Abyss knees Ray in the gut and slams him to the mat but Bully Ray avoids a splash and tags out. Abyss blocks an irish whip from Team 3D and runs off the ropes, Team 3D knock Abyss back into the ropes and Devon sends him over to the floor with a clothesline. Tommy Dreamer enters the ring and jabs at Bully Ray. Bully Ray sidesteps the bionic elbow and Team 3D double-team Dreamer.
Abyss gets back in the ring and Devon is there to meet him with right hands. Bully Ray slams Dreamer to the mat on the other side and I'm guessing the tagging's gone out the window. Abyss is sent out of the ring as Devon hits the headbutt from the top rope. The crowd helps Bully Ray ask Devon for the tables and they bring one out from under the ring. Taz mentions that these tables are different to the American style as Abyss knocks both members down with a clothesline. Tommy Dreamer shouts ECW, drawing an “E-C-Dub” chant from the crowd as they go brawl on the floor. Dreamer and Devon take it into the crowd, Dreamer spits water at Devon, then does The Great Muta's mist. Abyss rings the bell beside Bully Ray's ear. The camera keeps cutting between the pairs as Bully gets the advantage over Abyss in the crowd. He hits Abyss over the spine with a chair and rings the bell over his groin. Devon brings Dreamer over to where the others are and Bully Ray hits him with the ring hammer and goes over to the ring. Brother Devon hits Abyss with right hands but Abyss gets one back as Bully Ray starts throwing weapons into the ring. They all get in the ring, Dreamer and Bully have kendo sticks, Devon and Abyss have chairs. They have stereo swordfights with the weapons and Team 3D both get in a shot to the gut and another across the back. Dreamer and Abyss both sidestep the third weapon shot, Dreamer hits a DDT as Abyss gets a chokeslam, they get synchronised nearfalls.
Devon rolls out of the ring as Dreamer wedges a trash can in the corner. As per the rules of hardcore wrestling, Tommy Dreamer is sent into the trash can wedged corner as Bully Ray reverses an irish whip. Bully Ray turns around into a Blackhole Slam by Abyss Abyss covers and gets 2. Brother Devon gets back in the ring, picking up a chair but Abyss punches it back into his face. Abyss hits Devon with the chair on the mat and places it on his chest. Abyss gets a running start but lands on the chair as Devon turns it sideways. Brother Devon hits a standing spinebuster and covers for another nearfall. Devon puts Abyss over the table and climbs to the top rope, but Dreamer meets him with a right hand. Tommy Dreamer moves Abyss from the table and sets up for a superplex, but Bully Ray sneaks up from behind, hitting him with a trash can lid. Bully Ray powerbombs Tommy Dreamer through the table, in Japan! The crowd chant holy shit and Abyss knocks Bully Ray down with a clothesline. Abyss grabs a bag from underneath the ring, emptying the thumbtacks out onto the canvas, he grabs both of Team 3D by the throat but Bully Ray shoves him away, Abyss is backed into the ropes and walks into a double flapjack by Team 3D into the thumbtacks! Tommy Dreamer hits both members of Team 3D with the cane but walks into a 3D, Devon pins Tommy Dreamer to win the match.

Bound for Glory is seen as TNA's biggest event of the year. In 2014 they put all the effort of it being a “big show” by taking it to a Japanese audience instead of the normal American one, besides that these guys took the night off. It started off goofy, the crowd brawling picked it up but then it just became these 4 (three of whom near the tail end of 20 year careers) hitting spot after spot with no real reason. It was a glorified indy match and not a good one. – WORKRATE: 1.5/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 1.25/5 OVERALL 2.75/10
