Rob Van Dam had to relinquish the championship after a nearly 2-year run due to a broken leg, this is his first shot at the belt since returning. Rhino is ECW is the only real Rhino. Rhino gets an intense pre-match promo and enters the match first. Rob Van Dam has Bill Alfonso in his corner, Rhino shoves the championship belt at the referee before the introductions and stares at RVDJoey Styles and Cyrus The Virus are on commentary for this match.

Rhino charges before the bell can ring but RVD ducks, sending Rhino out to the floor. They brawl on the floor and Rhino is sent into two sections of the guardrail. Rhino reverses the third irish whip but RVD gets his boot up. RVD gets shoved from the guardrail into the crowd and Rhino follows, sending RVD into a section of the guardrail at the back, it falls from RVD's weight and Styles mentions that they're bellow commentary. Rhino takes RVD back to ringside, Rob Van Dam tries to fight back but is sent head first into the guardrail. Rhino kills his finisher, hitting a gore to RVD into the front row. Rhino Gorilla press slams RVD back to ringside and RVD's head hits the chair. Rhino could have saved RVD's life there, the chair was padded and there were no mats on the concrete floor. RVD cuts Rhino off and crotches him on the guardrail, hitting a Van Daminator to bring Rhino back to ringside as the fans chant “E-C-Dub”
Rob Van Dam gets back in the ring and hits Rhino with a running somersault senton on the floor. RVD hits a combination of kicks before sending Rhino into the ring. RVD climbs to the top turnbuckle, Rhino charges but RVD jumps over and backs Rhino into the corner with strikes. RVD sends Rhino across the ring and Rhino walks into an inverted atomic drop. Rhino slumps down into the corner and RVD dropkicks a chair into his face. Rhino starts to get up so Rob Van Dam goes to the corner with strikes. Rhino is sent across the ring but RVD runs into a back elbow. Rhino climbs to the middle rope and knocks Rob Van Dam out of the air when RVD tries to cut him off. Rhino gets a nearfall as the fans literally chant that they hate him. He flips the crowd off as he brings RVD to his feet in the corner. Rob Van Dam hits the turnbuckles from an irish whip and Rhino gores him into the corner before dumping RVD to the floor. They fight over a table, but Rhino gets it in the ring before knocking RVD down.
Rhino moves the timekeeper's table too and brings it back into the ring. Rhino sets up a table in the corner but RVD starts fighting back, Rhino snapmares Rob Van Dam and puts him in a chinlock. RVD elbows his way free once he gets to his feet, RVD picks up speed, Rhino ducks early so RVD rolls over his back, it takes an enziguri and a heel kick to drop Rhino which also brings Alfonso into the ring, dropping off a chair for RVD on the way through, Rhino ducks a Van Daminator and throws the chair back at RVD then hits him over the spine with it. RVD drops to his feet to avoid a slam and lifts Rhino in a fireman's carry, RVD rolls over, jumping to the middle rope to hit a moonsault and follows with a Five Star frog splash! 1, 2, 2.99! Rhino gets to his feet as RVD can't believe it, Gore by Rhino! Rhino doesn't cover, he drags RVD over to the apron and hits the Rhinodriver through the table on the floor! Rhino covers but RVD still kicks out!! Rhino tries to drag RVD to his feet, kneeing him in the face as he does. Bill Alfonso hits Rhino with the chair! Rhino chases Fonzy, who throws the chair to Rhino ready for RVD to hit the Van Daminator.
Rhino stumbles back into the corner and Alfonso holds the chair in position but Justin Credible runs down to the ring with a Singapore cane! RVD sends him packing and hits the Van Terminator across the ring but Rhino dragged Alfonso in the way! Rhino brings RVD to his feet by the hair and picks him up, charging him through the table in the corner. Rhino drags RVD back to the middle of the ring and hits the piledriver on the chair, covering Rob Van Dam for the win.
WINNER: RHINO (STILL ECW TELEVISION CHAMPION)
This was a pretty good match. It wasn't the best these two could put on and the crooked referee and Fonzyference took me out of it a bit, added to the fact that I never `got' ECW's push of Credible didn't draw me in. – WORKRATE: 2/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 1.25/5 OVERALL 3.25/10
