John Cena was stripped of the United States title because he struck at the time General Manager, Kurt Angle. Both were accidents as is shown on the recap package. New General Manager Teddy Long (thanks to Kurt Angle's broken leg miraculously healing so Angle can return to in-ring duties) made an 8-man elimination match, won by Booker T. Teddy Long decided to make a best of 5 series for the championship since Cena never really lost it, beginning at Summerslam and concluding tonight, between Booker T and challenger John Cena. Michael Cole and Tazz are on commentary for this match. Booker T enters first, followed closely by Cena as they both look focused. They're really building the feel with this match being the decider, both being on camera from backstage. As John Cena enters Tazz says he can't predict this match.

WINNER: JOHN CENA (3-2 SERIES; NEW United States Champion)
It could be because I'm looking at it from 2018 but this was every John Cena match until about 2009, or at least the highlights. They worked a nice basic match but I didn't like Booker T losing because he almost brought a chair into the match (indirectly, but enough that I consider it part of the finish) The crowd were really into it though, with the support for John Cena a refreshing thing to hear. I knew it wasn't a myth that Cena was liked at one time. There were also a couple of sloppy moments that brought the match down for me overall. – WORKRATE: 1.75/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 1.75/5 OVERALL 3.5/10
