SON OF HAVOC VS. ANGELICO

After a catch-up video, we are welcomed to The Temple by Matt Striker and Vampiro (wearing a Mariachi jacket to match El Mariachi Bronx playing them in). Son of Havoc is already in the ring with Ivelisse. Striker puts over Havoc for trying, reminding me of my own teachers back in the day. Ivelisse has the mic, she says Havoc isn't a loser, she doesn't date losers because she's the baddest bitch in the building. Angelico comes out for the match, he's definitely someone to watch for, having decent showings in Lucha Underground as well as down South in Mexico.

SON OF HAVOC VS. ANGELICO

As the bell rings commentary agree he must be doing something right, having Ivelisse as his girlfriend. Angelico gets a standing wristlock but Havoc quickly reverses it. Angelico chain wrestles free and sends Havoc across the ring. Matt Striker compares it to World of Sport (which conveniently was just revived on television over here. Son of Havoc charges, Angelico leapfrogs, ducking on his return. Son of Havoc cartwheels to stop the momentum because wrestling physics, Angelico sends him on his way again into a standing dropkick. Angelico kicks at Son of Havoc's legs, with a jumping knee to the face sending Havoc into the corner. Vampiro and Striker try to figure out who the big dutch UFC fighter is that uses that knee strike. A quick google search gives me a 50/50 shot between Alistair Overeem and Bas Rutten. Son of Havoc gets sent to the other corner for a running knee strike so we'll call it one for each. Ivelisse grabs Angelico's ankle from ringside, distracting him for a moment. Son of Havoc counters a headscissors into a facebuster but only gets a 1 count.

The crowd gets behind Son of Havoc as he picks up some momentum, he chops Angelico's chest in the corner. Angelico fights back with forearms, they move all the way across the ring. A knee to the gut sets Son of Havoc up for an irish whip but he counters and trips Angelico from behind. Son of Havoc gets a nearfall from a standing moonsault. Son of Havoc sends Angelico across the ring but ducks too early, Angelico rolls over Havoc's back but Havoc jumps the trip, Angelico kicks him in the head but runs into an inverted atomic drop. Son of Havoc trips Angelico and a jackknife cover gets him 2. Son of Havoc stays on the assault, choking Angelico on the middle rope as Matt Striker talks about his win/loss here at The Temple. Son of Havoc takes a walk with the referee as Ivelisse chokes Angelico from the floor. Son of Havoc goes over for a sunset flip but Angelico stays on his feet. Angelico drops on Son of Havoc with a double-foot stomp but Angelico's too tired to follow up. Son of Havoc charges but gets sent through the ropes. Angelico looks down at Son of Havoc before following him outside with a running somersault senton over the top!

Angelico sends Son of Havoc back into the ring, hitting another knee strike as he joins him. Angelico covers for a nearfall. Son of Havoc reverses an irish whip sending Angelico into the corner but runs into a boot, Angelico runs into a backbreaker and Son of Havoc gets a nearfall. The fans are behind Son of Havoc as he climbs to the top rope, Angelico cuts him off but gets slammed face first into the mat. Son of Havoc gets to his feet on the turnbuckle but Angelico avoids a shooting star press, Son of Havoc lands on his feet! Son of Havoc runs into a boot to the gut and gets sent into the turnbuckle. Son of Havoc climbs to the middle rope for seemingly no reason and gets kicked in the back of the head. Angelico sets up for a crucifix powerbomb he calls the Fall of the Angel but Son of Havoc rolls through, hurricanrana! Angelico is sent out of the ring, disappointing Vampiro, he wanted Havoc to win the match there and then. Son of Havoc dives into the ropes and springs back, then takes a second to kiss Ivelisse. Angelico charges from behind but Son of Havoc gets out of the way, Angelico doesn't hit Ivelisse and avoids Son of Havoc who also stops himself in time, Angelico reaches for a kiss from Ivelisse during an Oklahoma roll but gets slapped instead, leading to Havoc rolling him up for 2. As Angelico kicks out he sends Havoc into Ivelisse and rolls him up instead for the win!

WINNER: ANGELICO

I liked that they worked the story of Son of Havoc's really bad record so far in Lucha Underground into the match. They both worked hard with Son of Havoc being the bookmaker's favourite in my eyes during the match, although there wasn't much in it. Again Havoc was too sure and it cost him the match. WORKRATE: 2.5/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 2.75/5 OVERALL: 5.25/10

Angelico celebrates with the fans as Son of Havoc has to explain himself to Ivelisse.
