PRINCE PUMA © VS. CAGE

Konnan gets a walking segment to hype his and Prince Puma's sit down interview with Vampiro, after commercials. Matt Striker and Vampiro ramble about the interview before just going to it. Vampiro starts the champion's first public appearance asking Puma how he's feeling. Konnan answers for Puma saying he's pissed off. He earned the right to be champion and Cage jumped Puma from behind, so Vampiro gets him to clarify that Konnan means Prince Puma would win in a fair fight, that's exactly what Konnan's saying for Prince Puma. Vampiro says as amazing as Prince Puma is, people are concerned about him against Cage. Konnan says he didn't ask for anyone else's opinions. Vampiro speaks up about Konnan being the mouthpiece, asking Puma if he wants to speak since it's his time as champion. He's sick of Konnan sticking his nose in, leading to the retired guys squaring up. Vampiro tells Prince Puma to be careful as he and Konnan walk off.

Melissa Santos introduces Prince Puma first, Konnan leads the champion out to the ring. Vampiro repeats that Prince Puma doesn't need Konnan and right now he can't turn his back on him either. A commercial break splits the entrances, with Cage being introduced from Fresno, California's area code the 559. He uses a walkway on the arena floor.

MATCH 3: PRINCE PUMA © VS. CAGE (Lucha Underground Championship)

Prince Puma jumps him with a running swandive senton. Apparently that started the match, as the bell doesn't sound as they get into the ring. Cage lifts Puma on his shoulder and drives him into the corner. Prince Puma hits the first headscissors takedown of our main event, Cage gets back to his feet, knocking Puma out of the air with a shoulder block which beat Puma's airborne version with ease. Cage drives his shoulder into Puma's ribs, leaving the champion slumped on his shoulder. Cage puts Puma back in place for a second shoulder barge. Prince Puma is sent across the ring, leaving his feet before he hits the corner. Prince Puma is sent back across the ring, staggering out of the corner. Cage lifts him overhead, leaving Prince Puma to flip in the air and land on the mat. Cage drives his elbow into Puma's face during the cover, only getting 2. Cage keeps Puma on the ground, trapping one arm whilst applying a chinlock. Prince Puma gets to his feet as commentary talk about Konnan having a history of championship matches in his active career. Cage drops Prince Puma with a neckbreaker, but Prince Puma is able to make it to the ropes.

Prince Puma doesn't escape Cage's attack, Cage chokes the champion on the middle rope, using Konnan's ringside smack talk as fuel. Cage stops before he's disqualified, coming back to chop Puma against the ropes. Prince Puma rolls under a clothesline, then back again but is caught, no Puma is able to roll through for a nearfall. Puma's head collides with Cage's forearm after a failed irish whip attempt then Puma is sent across the ring. Cage throws off a headscissors attempt but Puma springs right back, Cage turns around to drop the champion with a sitout Alabama Slam which gets him 2. Matt Striker and Vampiro notice Cage showing signs of gassing out as he hits a trio of clotheslines in the corner. Vampiro shouts out to Terry Gordy for that one, Cage walks Prince Puma around in the powerslam edition for too long as it gets countered with a DDT. Prince Puma stalks back to the corner as Cage gets to his feet groggy, Puma hits a running shoulder, sending him out to the apron for an enziguri then following up with a springboard clothesline back into the ring. Prince Puma covers, 1, 2, Cage kicks out!

Prince Puma gets too comfortable and tries to lift Cage, but instead gets sent across the ring with a butterfly suplex. Prince Puma rolls out to the apron as the commentators debate how much of that decision came from which competitor. Cage climbs to the middle rope but gets slapped in the ear, Puma kicks Cage down to the ring and his throat hits the top rope on the way down a springboard double knee drop gets Puma another nearfall. Matt Striker calls Puma a fighting champion, taking a shot at WWE's unofficial 30-day rule as they get to their feet, Cage stops Puma having to lift him for a fireman's carry by elbowing him in the head but his back suplex attempt ends with Puma on his feet, I feel there should be a cat joke here, but there's no time as Puma grabs a waistlock, Cage grabs Puma's arm and forces him back into the corner, Puma ascends the ropes but Cage cuts him off. Cage looks for a superplex but Puma kicks his legs to block it, landing on the apron. Prince Puma kicks Cage but is caught on a splash from the top rope, Cage slams Puma down for a nearfall.

Cage lifts Puma again into a high cross, Puma can't kick his way back to the ground so he kicks off the turnbuckle, flipping to his feet, a jumping knee strike sends Cage into the corner, Konnan coaches Puma to his feet from ringside, Cage almost catches Puma from a 619 attempt in the corner, but just mis-times it, that doesn't detract from seeing Cage walk Puma away from the ropes and slamming him down again, Cage rolls through and jumps from the middle rope with a moonsault to follow up! 1, 2 Puma kicks out. Prince Puma gets dragged to his feet but slips out of a powerbomb at the last second. Puma rocks Cage with a European uppercut and a kick to the gut. Prince Puma gets speed from the ropes for a kick to the back of Cage's head. Prince Puma kicks Cage's arm away but runs into a spinebuster. Cage hits a pair of powerbombs but Puma rolls through the third! Puma gets to his feet instead of keeping Cage down, hitting a dropkick from above as Cage sits up! Both men are down on the mat as Vampiro leaves the commentary table to hype up the fans.

Matt Striker reassures Vampiro, telling him it's OK to be a fan. I instantly feel better in my life until Cage lifts Puma overhead into the corner. Cage hits a modified (possibly botched at the beginning) F5 1, 2, 2.999 before Prince Puma gets his shoulder up! I'd written that off as the finish, but Puma has other plans, landing on his feet from a pumphandle lift, superkicking Cage, spinning with a second kick. Cage is still on his feet, he attempts a lariat but Puma catches it and hits a third kick. Cage is staggering, Prince Puma hits a Northern Lights suplex, slowly rolling through into a vertical suplex. Prince Puma covers but Cage kicks out at 2. Prince Puma signals for the 630 so Matt Striker marks out on commentary like a teenage girl. Cage shoves the referee into the ropes, sending Puma down to the mat. Cage talks to the referee and kicks Puma low for the disqualification.
WINNER: PRINCE PUMA (STILL LUCHA UNDERGROUND CHAMPION VIA DQ)

Cage continues the attack on the champion after the bell, hitting a Gory stretch into a Flatliner to leave Puma laying in the ring. The referee gets shoved outside, Cage sets up a powerbomb but Konnan gets in the ring, Cage hits Konnan's stick with his back, well it might as well have been that way, he drops Konnan with a right hand. Cage grabs the Lucha Underground championship belt and busts Konnan open with it before ripping one of the straps off! What the fuck!? Cage stands tall to end the show as Matt Striker kisses Konnan's ass. Konnan loses a fair amount of blood for this. We see Dario Cueto watching from his office as Puma looks at the belt. The Mysterious Woman appears. She's looking for a man that owes her, Dario Cueto says he's squared up with his debts so she clears it up with him with just one word, “Mantanza” Dario Cueto looks sheepish and we end the show with him looking worried.

This was a hard-hitting clash of styles whilst it was allowed to run, but Lucha Underground couldn't have a popular star like Puma lose the title so quickly, they had Cage they'd quickly and ferociously been promoting as deadly though. This led to Cage hitting Puma with everything and Prince Puma keeping himself in the match long enough to annoy Cage. Cage lost his opportunity WORKRATE: 2.25/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 2/5 OVERALL: 4.25/10
