King Cuerno stalks down to the ring, placing his headrest on the corner post. Drago makes his way down to the ring as Matt Striker mentions that these guys are one apiece against each other, making this the rubber match. I reviewed their first match here and their second match here.
MATCH 2: KING CUERNO VS. DRAGO
Vampiro and Matt Striker remain on commentary for this match. It might not be a deciding match, it could just become another chapter in a bigger story. Striker talks about getting to know a wrestler in the ring, Vampiro takes it to Mexican boxing for some reason, calling it a will of stamina. Who hits who hardest for longest. They run the ropes avoiding attacks until Drago draws first blood with a jumping hurricanrana for a quick nearfall. They slowly get to their feet not taking their eyes off each other. Drago slaps Cuerno repeatedly but Cuerno blocks a spinning back chop. Cuerno kicks Drago sending him out through the ropes. King Cuerno hits a somersault senton over the top to Drago on the floor! Cuerno walks around to the opposite side of the ring, retrieving a table. Striker says this has unpredictable consequences but not really. Someone's going through it, either from their own momentum or a move. King Cuerno grabs Drago from the floor and brings him over to the apron overlooking the table.
Drago is on Cuerno's shoulders but slips back into the ring to safety. Drago kicks Cuerno off the apron to the floor to buy himself some more time. Scrap that as he flies over the top with a suicide corkscrew plancha! That took it out of them both, as they try to get to their feet. King Cuerno has his hands on a chair, which he must have grabbed from under the ring as he got up. He tells the camera how smart he is and hits the corner post with the chair. No foam in that one, Drago ducks a chair shot, laying Cuerno on the table with a superkick. Drago sprints up the staircase to the top of Dario Cueto's office, he hits a splash from onto Cuerno! The referee in the ring has to count both Drago and King Cuerno out.
RESULT: DOUBLE COUNT OUT
Ehhhhh. This match was the completion of Lucha Underground's first trilogy. The match itself didn't really get going. They felt each other out then went from spot to big spot to bigger spot to the finale with no rhyme or reason. It was really disappointing but I need to see where it goes first. The splash from the office was a nice finish but the double count out conclusion sucked. There were no disqualifications bit they had to be in the ring in a certain duration? That doesn't make sense. Really disappointed in this match. WORKRATE: 1.25/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 1/5 OVERALL: 2.25/10
