When we return from the commercial break Johnny Mundo is entering the ring with a microphone. He reminds Cueto that he's still owed his $100,000. Giving El Jefe to the count of 10. He's interrupted by Big Ryck who says Mundo lost the money to him, so to get out of his ring. Before Ryck can give Mundo an alternative (although I have a feeling it won't have been a nice one) Mundo does as he's asked... Kind of. He dives onto Big Ryck over the top rope! Mundo lays in some right hands on Ryck before getting back in the ring to continue his count. Konnan is out at 9 and he tells Mundo that Puma's the one that is owed the money. It's Johnny Mundo's fault Puma's been attacked since he got here. Big Ryck blindsides a distracted Mundo in the ring and beats him down. Prince Puma is on the apron and knocks Ryck down with a springboard dropkick! Puma goes after Big Ryck and Vampiro is glad Puma isn't listening to Konnan. Ryck is able to shove Puma away but Mundo's back on his feet. Mundo and Puma send Ryck out of the ring with a double dropkick.
Cortez Castro and Mr Cisco see to Big Ryck as Matt Striker says people think Mundo and Puma should split the 100K. Who? Who fucking thinks that Striker, you dumbass? Mundo and Puma exchange rights in the ring now, and Mundo takes Puma down, thy roll around the ring with Puma getting the advantage, Mundo is able to slip away, and officials and security try to break them up before Dario Cueto finally emerges from his office. He's holding a briefcase with $100,000 in it. It was supposed to be Mundo's, then Big Ryck's as a signing bonus (but didn't he already give Ryck Mundo's original cash?) he says Ryck didn't read the fine print on his bonus. He has to earn it. So next week there's going to be a $100,000 3-way ladder match between Big Ryck, Johnny Mundo & Prince Puma.
Vampiro and Matt Striker call this match as usual. Chavo Guerrero Jr enters the match first, and he's quickly becoming one of the least liked luchadors in the locker room, according to Matt Striker. Vampiro corrects him, saying that reaches the whole of Mexico after his attack on Blue Demon Jr, who shall be back soon. Pentagon Jr makes his entrance barely acknowledging Chavo. Sexy Star and Fenix both make their entrances as Matt Striker goes over the issues between Fenix and Pentagon Jr, as well as Sexy Star and Chavo. Chavo is the first to back towards the apron, but he goes to kick Sexy Star and gets caught, as Pentagon gets hit in the chops with a superkick by Fenix. Fenix hits Chavo with a running dropkick, sending him out to the floor with a double-jump springboard dropkick! Sexy Star runs at Pentagon but he grabs her by the hair, he holds her there for an uncomfortably long time before dumping her out to the floor too.
CHAVO GUERRERO JR & PENTAGON JR VS. FENIX & SEXY STAR
Looks like Fenix and Pentagon Jr start us off. Fenix runs under a clothesline and bodychecks Pentagon, Pentagon Jr almost catches him but it's reversed into a hurricanrana! Pentagon and Chavo talk sports on the floor before Chavo slowly gets in the ring, making himself the legal man. Chavo goes behind on a collar-elbow tie up. He snapmares Fenix over and slows down all time and space with a chinlock on the mat. Fenix trips the leg but Chavo keeps leverage with his bodyweight on top. Fenix gets to his feet, sending Chavo off the ropes. Fenix goes prone and a dropkick sends Chavo to the mat. Sexy Star gets a tag, hitting a running dropkick to Chavo's ribs. She hits some roundhouse body kicks but Chavo sends her down with a running shoulder tackle. Pentagon Jr cheers from the apron as Chavo grinds his boot into Sexy Star's face, talking trash to Fenix. He drags Sexy Star over to Pentagon's corner by her hair as the fans in The Temple chant something that sounds homophobic to Chavo in Spanish.
Pentagon chokes Sexy Star on the top rope after making the tag. He stops just before the referee calls for a disqualification and Sexy Star slumps in the corner, with a slight assist from Chavo. Pentagon Jr chokes her again with his boot in the corner before tagging back out. Sexy Star hits Chavo in the ribs, before a nice slap to the face allowing her to get the tag to Fenix. Fenix climbs on the top turnbuckle and clears Chavo, hitting Pentagon with a right hand. He hits Chavo with a jumping roundhouse kick and leaps back up in the air with a back kick! Pentagon knees Fenix in the back from the apron before he can pick up much more momentum and Chavo turns him inside out with a clothesline! Chavo beats down on Fenix and drags him to the corner, choking him with his boot and tagging out to Pentagon Jr. Fenix is sent off the ropes and comes back into a backbreaker across Pentagon Jr's knee! Pentagon Jr covers as I check my own spine's in position after watching that, but only gets a nearfall. A loud overhand chop to the chest sends Fenix down to the mat.
Chavo Guerrero Jr gets back in the match, vaulting in and kicking Fenix with one swift move. Matt Striker tries to sell the point of Fenix being a gentleman and taking the beating for Sexy Star because he's “THAT GUY” but Vampiro cuts him off quick. Pentagon and Chavo try to intimidate Sexy Star before Chavo locks in a front facelock. Fenix is able to make it to his feet and escape but runs into a standing dropkick. Chavo quickly rolls Fenix to the middle of the ring but only gets 2. Sexy Star wants a tag from the apron, but Chavo keeps himself between her and Fenix. He makes another quick tag to Pentagon Jr. They send Fenix off the ropes, HANDSPRING CUTTER TO PENTAGON JR! Chavo's there waiting. He ducks a kick but doesn't anticipate a second, dropping to the mat. Sexy Star gets the hot tag! She goes after both opponents, booting Chavo in the corner and stomping on him (like literally standing on his shoulders style) before sending Pentagon Jr under the bottom rope with a headscissors!
Sexy Star chokes Chavo in the corner, using everything she has and letting all her anger out on him. Chavo reverses an irish whip into the corner, Sexy Star gets both feet up but they're caught by Chavo who just drops her to the mat. Chavo Guerrero Jr takes too long applying a boston crab, not noticing Fenix on the top rope, he hits Chavo with a double stomp from the top but the momentum sends him into a belly to belly into the turnbuckles by Pentagon Jr! All four people in the match are down, and I'm not far from being that exhausted myself from that. Sexy Star and Pentagon are the first up, Sexy Star ducks a lazy clothesline and they go round and round and round before Sexy Star hits what should have been a DDT, but Pentagon went all the way over before sliding to the floor. Sexy Star hits him with a corkscrew plancha from the top rope to the floor, hurting herself on the steps of The Temple! Back in the ring Chavo charges at Fenix but is sent to the outside. FENIX KNOCKS EVERYONE DOWN WITH A CRAZY RUNNING CORKSCREW PLANCHA!
Somehow after all that Chavo and Sexy Star make their way back into the ring, Chavo plants Sexy Star with a slam and climbs to the top rope. Matt Striker called Chavo's frog splash “ a Five Star Frog splash, a homage to his uncle Eddie" because fuck accuracy. Fenix cuts it off sending Chavo to the floor. Pentagon sends Sexy Star across the ring and sets her up for the Easy Driver as she comes back off the ropes, he turns around into a superkick from Fenix! Sexy Star flipped him over with a powerbomb! Fenix climbs to the top as Sexy Star brings Pentagon Jr within range. Flying double knees by Fenix! We see Chavo looking on as Fenix gives Sexy Star the cover and keeps Chavo at bay.
WINNERS: SEXY STAR & FENIX
The match brought things together nicely. With everyone's problems with each other making it tense. It was a nice fast paced match, and it leaves Chavo free to deal with Blue Demon Jr when he returns. Although Sexy Star may disagree, after all, she pinned Pentagon, not Chavo. Fenix got to show off more of his athleticism and he's quickly becoming one of my favourite Lucha Underground guys to watch. The main thing letting the match down was Striker on commentary putting over Sexy Star just too much when her work can and should be allowed to speak for itself. But to end on a positive, that springboard cutter move is SIIIIIIIIIICK! WORKRATE: 3.5/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 3.25/5 OVERALL: 6.75/10
EPISODE SUMMARY: Yet another episode of Lucha Underground in the history books. Yet more story developments and future plans. I hope the Son of Havoc thing doesn't last much longer and at least the $100,000 one-night story will be ending next week (6 weeks late) it's been enjoyable but everything has a limit. The same goes for Muertes taking out fools weekly. We get hit, we don't want to fuck with him. OVERALL 7.75/10
