Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match. The champion enters the first. JR tells us this is Trish's third reign as champion. Lawler says the women's championship is exclusive to Raw in his own way. As Victoria enters JR again has a way of telling us she's the one playing the psycho-bitch at the moment.

A collar-elbow tie up starts the match and Trish Stratus seems to have the early advantage, but Victoria switches at the right time, having Trish against the ropes. Victoria breaks with a slap to the face. Trish isn't taking that lying down though as she hits Victoria with a forearm. Victoria grabs a side headlock, Trish hits her with forearms to the kidneys but Victoria wrenches tighter each time. Victoria takes Trish down in a headlock, keeping her shoulders down for two. Trish kicks out and uses the momentum to get to her feet. She uses more forearms to Victoria's kidneys and sends her into the ropes but Victoria knocks her down. Victoria boots Trish in the head and works on her in the corner as the crowd are chanting for Hulk Hogan. Trish Stratus is sent across the ring but she hits a jumping clothesline for a nearfall. Trish hits a pair of kicks, Victoria catches the third attempt and is able to duck a fourth but Trish finally gets the hat-trick and a nearfall.
Victoria rolls out of the ring for a break, Trish sneaks out the other side of the ring post and drags Victoria into it using her own arm. Trish follows up with a clothesline knocking Victoria down, but Victoria quickly turns the tide by sending Trish into the ring post. Jerry Lawler's surprised that JR's seen many women before as Victoria lifts Trish on her shoulders and drops her onto the security wall and kicks her in the ribs. Victoria sends Trish back into the ring. Victoria follows with a slingshot somersault legdrop but still just gets 2. Trish gets to her feet in the corner and Victoria uses shoulder barges to go after the injured ribs. She sends Trish across the ring and barely hits a monkey flip. Trish blocks a second monkey flip attempt on the other side, perching Victoria on the top rope. Victoria stops Trish going for a superplex with right hands but Trish handstands and brings Victoria down to the mat with a modified hurricanrana! 1, 2, no! Victoria barely got her shoulder up.
Victoria knees Trish in the gut as they both get to their feet. Victoria holds Trish up in an Argentine backbreaker, but Trish doesn't give up and rolls back to her feet. She rolls Victoria up with a jackknife cover but gets a nearfall. Victoria slaps the champion across the face Victoria slaps stratus again and slams her down. Victoria has Stratus across her shoulders and swings her around for a side slam. Victoria climbs to the top rope for a moonsault but Stratus grabs at her ankle. Victoria kicks Stratus off. Victoria gets caught in an electric chair and Stratus slams her to the mat by falling back. Stratus slowly covers and gets another nearfall. Victoria hits right hands but Trish isn't lying down, fighting back with a forearm. Trish has Victoria backed against the ropes but Victoria reverses an irish whip. Trish Stratus ducks a clothesline and Victoria turns around into a Chick Kick! Victoria kicks out at 2! Trish Stratus hits a pair of swinging neckbreakers and sets up for the Stratusfaction, but flips back landing on her feet. Trish rolls Victoria up to retain her title!
WINNER: TRISH STRATUS (STILL WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPION)
This match only got five minutes and there were a few times where I think it could have ended (and possibly should have) they both got a good amount of stuff in and Victoria got a good portion of control in the match. The finish sucked for me though, although now I have a match in my memory that ended in an O'Connor roll. That's something – WORKRATE: 2/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 1/5 OVERALL 3/10
Raw won the night in terms of Women's matches on this night. That's not saying much but still.
