Yoshi Kwan enters first, lead by Harley Race. This is a subplot to the overarching Cactus Jack vs.Vader feud. You may have heard of it. This was right after the "Lost in Cleveland" section, and a video package before the match shows. This is billed as a "Bounty Match" with Kwan trying to claim a bounty on Cactus Jack put on his head by Vader and Harley Race. Jesse Ventura and Tony Schiovane are your announce team for this match. This is Jack's return match, and he gets a decent reaction as he makes his way out to the ring.
YOSHI KWAN VS. CACTUS JACK (BOUNTY MATCH)
WCW Fall Brawl (19th September 1993)
Cactus Jack attacks Race as he gets in the ring. Yoshi Kwan is there to save his manager, but can't stop him falling through the ropes. Jack takes down Kwan, pounding him with rights. A headbutt sends Kwan onto the middle rope, and Jack splashes onto his back. A right hand sends Kwan into the ropes and Cactus clothesline takes them both over to the floor. Cactus Jack turns his attention back to Race and his bag, Kwan hits a knee to Cactus Jack's back and chops him before breaking the count out. Cactus Jack is sent head first into the apron. Tony Schiovane reminds us for the 5th time that it's a “Bounty Match” and says they're in front of the wrong ring. Kwan gets Jack on the walkway and sends him into the ropes, hitting him with an enziguri. A screaming headbutt and a right hand send Cactus into the ring, and he has to crawl all the way across to their ring before being counted out.
Kwan hits Cactus Jack with a combination of strikes before knocking him down with a kick. Cactus Jack is sent across the ring and hit with a leg lariat. He gets to his feet in the corner, but Kwan hits him with roundhouse kicks to the head. Cactus Jack catches the Crane kick! Cactus Jack knocks Kwan down with right hands and chokes him on the mat. Jack grinds Kwan's face on the top rope before raking his back. Cactus Jack hits an inverted atomic drop (hey, a wrestling move!) and knocks Kwan down with a forearm. Harley Race trips Cactus up from the outside, and Kwan hits him with another kick. Kwan brings the referee away as Harley Race and Cactus Jack talk sports, Kwan misses Jack, Jack hits Kwan and finishes it with the double-underhook DDT.
WINNER: CACTUS JACK
What the fuck was this? Was it necessary? Yoshi Kwan got a nice showing but it lead to nothing as the man playing the character got a knee injury. It's just there, glad I got an obscure Mick Foley match done but that's it. – WORKRATE: 2/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 1/5 OVERALL 3/10
After the match, Cactus Jack brought Harley Race in the ring with a suplex and retrieved his bag. challenged Vader for Halloween Havoc next month.
I looked at the Fall Brawl 1994 card and decided to pick a squash match featuring one of the biggest stars in the industry's history, and a career midcarder. This will allow me to get to 1995, the first year with all three companies having a supercard that month, and I shall try to create a system for the posts.
