"Macho Man" Randy Savage and Scott Hall represent the New World Order, Lex Luger and Diamond Dallas Page represent WCW. Randy Savage is announced as having Miss Elizabeth with him. However, it's a different woman. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Tony Schovane and Larry Zybysko are on commentary. Diamond Dallas Page and Lex Luger take a while to confer, but Scott Hall is starting for the nWo and he decides he wants Luger.
“MACHO MAN” RANDY SAVAGE & SCOTT HALL VS. DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & LEX LUGER
WCW Fall Brawl (14th September 1996)
A collar-elbow tie up almost ends in a stalemate before Luger's SCREAMING POWER!!! Sends Hall across the ring.Scott Hall is able to get Luger back a couple of steps but again the screams overpower him, sending him to the mat. Savage enters the ring to do absolutely nothing, going back to his corner to try and play mind games with his opponents. Scott Hall resorts to strikes before sending Luger across the ring. Luger ducks a clothesline before knocking Hall down with one of his own. Savage takes a clothesline too. Savage is sent into Scott Hall and a double clothesline knocks them both down. Scott Hall rolls out of the ring, DDP tries to get in (a bit late to the party...) and Luger sends Savage over the top rope onto Scott Hall! Lex Luger poses for the crowd before making the Diamond Cutter signal and tagging out to DDP. Scott Hall is back in the ring and he gets control of DDP's arm. He rams his own shoulder into DDP before bringing him down to the mat. He lifts DDP overhead and drops him to the mat, standing over him with the arm bar. Scott Hall slaps DDP across the head as DDP gets to his feet, but DDP gets in a combination of jabs and an inverted atomic drop. Scott Hall catches a kick and spins DDP around, both men duck a right-hand attempt and DDP finally connects with a kick to the gut. He lifts Hall for a piledriver but face plants him instead.
Diamond Dallas Page mocks Savage before knocking him off the apron. Scott Hall reverses an irish whip and Savage trips Page from the outside. Scott Hall blindsides him with a clothesline and tags in Savage. Savage hits a knee drop. I'm not sure if that was meant to be his elbow drop and DDP was too close or something though. Savage chokes DDP on the mat before dropping him over the top rope. Savage draws Luger into the ring and fakes a tag to Hall. Scott Hall sends DDP across the ring with a Fallaway Slam for a nearfall before tagging back out. Savage chokes Page some more before sending him into the top turnbuckle, and I mean really sending him. DDP's double-teamed in the corner, before finding an opening to fight his way out. Savage is able to grab DDP's ankle and he makes the tag to Scott Hall.
Hall knocks Luger down and forces him between the two rings as Savage and Elizabeth (apparently it is her now, but I'm keeping both sides in until I get confirmation.) attack DDP in the corner. Savage sends DDP over to the other ring for a while, and Hall sends him back. Heenan mentions that the referee's motioning to the other ring but he isn't actively counting either man out. Scott Hall kind of obliges by sending DDP over the top to the original ring. Savage and Elizabeth keep beating on DDP as Scott Hall knocks out the referee, mocking him with DX's crotch chop. A second referee gets knocked out, and Zybysko has had enough. He charges to ringside and distracts Scott Hall long enough for Luger to roll him up and pin him!
WINNERS: Lex Luger & Diamond Dallas Page
Oh. This was WCW a year into the nWo storyline... This was a nothing match. A waste of time and a waste of four capable workers on the card. Just a few minutes of the New World Order dominating the match and having someone outside of the match have to save WCW's ass. I really don't see the point of this match and didn't enjoy it one bit after Page hit the facebuster. – WORKRATE: 2/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 0.5/5 OVERALL 2.5/10
