NXT From The Beginning: Live Specials - Match 3:- The Ascension (C) vs. Too Cool (NXT Tag Team Championships)

MATCH 3: THE ASCENSION © VS. TOO COOL(NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS)

The Ascension sent out an open challenge for tonight, and Too Cool of all tag teams answered it. They got a big pop from the crowd and we see some Too Cool footage as they make their entrance. William Regal asks how smart of a move it was for them to answer this challenge, and says they might want to go straight back into retirement after this match. Viktor starts with Grand Master Sexay and looks for a leaping (and I mean LEAPING) overhand right, but GMS ducks it. Sexay ducks another right hand, but Viktor catches him with a knee to the gut. Viktor sends Grand Master Sexay across the ring but goes down on a shoulder block. Viktor kips up as Grand Master Sexay dances and hits a hard chop. European Uppercut follows, another chop and uppercut send GMS into the corner, but he gets out of there before he can get struck again. Viktor brings Gand Master Sexay over to Konnor and tags out. Grand Master Sexay is snapmared to the mat by Viktor then Konnor hits a high elevation leg drop. That guy's nearly 300lbs. Leg drop gets a 2 count for The Ascension. Konnor sends Grand Master Sexay down with a trio of shoulder blocks and puts him in the corner. Konnor brings Grand Master Sexay over to the wrong side of town, slamming his head on the top turnbuckle. Right hand sends Sexay onto his arse and Konnor picks him up just to kick his gut. Konnor kicks and knees Grand Master Sexay in the corner before hitting a big boot and tagging back out.

Viktor covers straight away for another nearfall, and he puts the boots to Grand Master Sexay, punctuating it with an elbow drop before staring out Scotty 2 Hotty on the apron. Viktor brings Grand Master Sexay to his feet and suplexes him down in one fluid movement for another 2 count. Viktor grabs the reverse chinlock to wear Grand Master Sexay down, and the camera man cuts to Konnor so we don't see how or why it was released. Viktor uses strikes on the ground to keep Grand Master Sexay on the mat and again gets a reverse chinlock, this time clasping his hands over Sexay's face for more pressure. Sexay makes his way to his feet and escapes with a jawbreaker. Viktor (who William Regal called Konnor) puts his body in the way of the tag, and tries to hit a right hand, but Grand Master Sexay blocks it and hits one of his own, another right hand by Grand Master Sexay and William Regal reads my mind about saying (or in my case typing) “Sexay” as Grand Master Sexay crawls through Viktor's legs and gets the hot tag (Hotty tag?) Scotty 2 Hotty (that's not much better) hits Viktor with right hands, Konnor enters to aid his partner but gets a right hand for his troubles, Viktor able to reverse the momentum back their way in that second, though, clocking Scotty 2 Hotty from behind. Viktor sends Scotty across the ring but can't get a hip toss, Scotty tries one of his own but Viktor blocks it. Scotty 2 Hotty back flips off Viktor for reasons I'm still not sure of. Scotty ducks a right hand and hits a running forearm sending Viktor to the corner.

Scotty hits a right hand, but Viktor holds the top rope to stop Scotty sending him across the ring. Viktor rakes the eyes and sends Scotty into the corner, but Scotty gets a boot up. More right hands by Scotty 2 Hotty and he avoids a charging Viktor, running bulldog by Scotty 2 Hotty sends Viktor down to the mat and sets up for The Worm! Too Cool send an interfering Konnor out of the ring before Scotty can start. Scotty gets all the way through his shtick, but Viktor grabs the tights and sends him into the second rope before he can hit it. Grand Master Sexay gets knocked off the apron, and Viktor hits a hard falling clothesline on Scotty 2 Hotty. Konnor is back in his corner and Viktor tags out before the Fall of Man ends it.

This was a decent match, Scotty was able to get his stuff in, The Ascension were made to look like dominant champions and of course the surprise was nice for all of the fans. 2 Cool didn't look to be in too bad of shape, but they weren't needed to be for this match. I'll rate it 5.3/10
