CJ Parker is doing a heel hippy gimmick, blaming all of us for climate change and destroying the world. Which is great but I'm not a fan of heel characters supporting world issues if I'm honest, makes people care less about them. I'm not a big advocate of “save the trees, save the planet” or stuff like that but as a principle it doesn't sit right with me. Anyway CJ Parker now works in NJPW as Juice Robinson.
Mojo Rawley has the fans firmly behind him as they lock up. Rawley holds strength (presumably in the form of powerlifting or a similar sport) at the University of Maryland, and has a noticable size and strength advantage. Rawley powers Parker into the corner, and breaks it clean, mainly due to Parker not being able to reach him with a kick. Rawley says Parker isn't hyped enough. Rawley wants to lock up again but Parker reaches with his kick this time before grabbing a side headlock. Rawley sends Parker into the ropes and tries to press him overhead but Parker slips out the back. Rawley runs to the ropes and uses the momentum to throw Parker off. Mojo Rawley charges but Parker ducks him, and then leapfrogs on the way back. Parker runs the ropes and gets sent overhead with a backdrop! He flipped over late there, scary moment. Rawley covers but only gets 2. Rawley gets control of Parker's arm and brings him back to his feet. CJ Parker tries to find the ropes but Rawley brings him back down to the mat. CJ Parker grabs at Rawley's ear and forces him into the corner, breaking the hold. Parker knees Rawley in the gut and tries to send him across the ring. Mojo Rawley reverses that but eats a boot on the charge. CJ Parker hits a jumping clothesline out of the corner and covers but only gets 1.
Rawley goes to the corner and Parker hits some right hands, Rawley covers up so Parker switches to kicks to the midsection to beat Rawley down. Parker brings Rawley back to his feet and brings him across the ring to slam his head on the top turnbuckle. Parker hits a shoulder block and holds it there until the referee makes him break it. Hard knife edge chop follows and Parker sends Rawley back across the ring with another turnbuckle smash. William Regal mocks CJ Parker's character by saying he loves processed food and his big SUV and basically says fuck the pandas. (Are management still bothered about the company name change?) CJ Parker talks some smack but Rawley hits a hard right hand, sending Parker staggering backwards. Parker isn't happy about that and bombards Rawley with left hands in the corner. Parker tries to irish whip Rawley across the ring but Rawley reverses it and hits a 3 point stance Stinger Splash. Second Stinger Splash brings CJ Parker out of the corner and the flying arse attack sets up for the HyperDrive (Earthquake splash) for the win.
I enjoyed this match more than I thought I would. It was only about 4 minutes long and was a way to show off Mojo Rawley, I actually want to see more of him on his own before he became a tag team with Zack Ryder. I think he could have potential (although take that with a grain of salt, it was only a 4 minute match.) I'll give it 4.7/10
