Waylon Mercy vs. Savio Vega

 The opening video package talks about the Triple Crown tag team main event. All three championships in the WWF are on the line in one match. Vince McMahon welcomes us to the show and it’s more hype for the main event. Lawler says that Owen will beat Shawn Michaels, Ross thinks Yokozuna is winning the WWF Intercontinental Championship

Savio Vega makes his way out first, and we see his debut back at the first In Your House event. Waylon Mercy is Dan Spivey dressed as the main character in Cape Fear, or, for younger fans, Bray Wyatt’s clothes before Bray Wyatt. We see Waylon Mercy squash a worm as he makes his way into the ring. Waylon Mercy wants a handshake before the bell.

Vince McMahon, Jim Ross, and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match.

WAYLON MERCY VS. SAVIO VEGA

WWF In Your House 3 (September 1995)

  Savio Vega waits for the bell to ring before shaking Mercy’s hand. Waylon Mercy tries to jump Vega from behind but Savio Vega ducks it, going to work in the corner.

  Savio Vega sends Mercy across the ring and runs at him with a boot before some chops in the corner. Waylon Mercy reverses an irish whip but runs into the turnbuckles. Savio Vega connects with right hands, he sends Mercy off the ropes into what Vince calls a modified arm drag. He tries to keep Waylon Mercy down in the arm bar, but has to send him off the ropes again. Mercy is brought down into another arm bar as JR mentions that Waylon Mercy is a southpaw. Waylon Mercy reverses an irish whip and sends his knee into Savio’s midsection, then clotheslines him down. Savio Vega is sent out to the floor, Mercy chops at Savio Vega and slams him on rhe floor. Waylon Mercy brings it back in the ring, then wears Savio Vega down with a neck cravate before sending him off the ropes again. Waylon Mercy hot shots Savio Vega across the top rope and covers for 2.

  Waylon Mercy chokes Savio Vega across the top rope and connects with punches in the corner. Dok Hendrix gets some screen-in-screen time to tell us that Owen Hart hasn’t arrived yet as Waylon Mercy hits a sidewalk slam for 2. Savio Vega rolls out of the way of an elbow drop, but he gets sent off the ropes. Waylon Mercy catches Vega in a sleeper hold. Savio Vega desperately tries to s cramble to the ropes. Savio Vega looks like he is fading, but he is able to send Waylon Mercy into the turnbuckles. Waylon Mercy goes back to the sleeper hold but Vega counters with a back suplex for a double-down. Both guys get up at 6 and they slug it out, Savio Vega gets the advantage and hits a jumping headbutt. Savio Vega sends Waylon Mercy off the ropes into a big boot. Savio Vega brings Mercy back to his feet and hits a spinning heel kick for 2. Savio Vega takes Mercy down with a bulldog for another 2 count. Savio Vega forces Mercy down in a pinning combination for another 2, so Waylon Mercy is sent off the ropes. Savio Vega ducks too early and gets knocked down.

  Waylon Mercy gets 2 off a brainbuster, a high back suplex gets 2, Savio Vega counters a bodyslam attempt and hits a german suplex for 2. Sacvio Vega hits the ropes for a spinning heel kick and he covers for the win.

WINNER: SAVIO VEGA

 . This was a basic match, but the fans loved seeing Savio Vega, and it was the perfect choice to  [**1/4] /5.7510

After the match Dok Hendrix is in Camp Cornette’s locker room. Jim Cornette says that Owen Hart may not exactly be “here” here, he is in Michigan. Gorilla Monsoon says the Triple Header match is going on tonight, no matter if Owen gets here or not.
