Chris Benoit makes his way out first, we see Dusty Rhodes telling the members of the Revolution that they’re going to get an opportunity, which is how Benoit got this title match. David Flair tries to walk past but is put in the Crossface before Dusty makes the match. David Flair makes his way out with Torrie Wilson and Asya, Charles Robinson is our referee.
Tony Schiavone and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan are on
commentary. Nick Patrick makes his way out and it turns out he’s going
to be our referee for the match.

(WCW United
States Championship)
WCW Nitro (9th August 1999)
The
bell rings and David Flair looks terrified. He ducks a right hand by falling on
his arse and scrambles out of the ring.
David Flair tries to make it to the back but Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn bring him back to the ring. Flair begs off into the corner which is
the only thing he learned in the ring from his father and extends his hand to
Benoit. Chirs Benoit takes the handshake and kicks David in the
midsection. Benoit sends Flair off the ropes and he bails to the floor again,
but Saturn and Malenko stop him from making an escape. Chris Benoit kicks Flair
in the midsection when he gets back in the ring and knocks him down with a
chop. Benoit hits a snap suplex and stands over Flair, slapping him in the
face. Benoit hits a backbreaker and a legdrop on David Flair, taking his time. Benoit
hits an inverted atomic drop and chops Flair back down to the mat, we see Chris Kanyon running down to the ring, followed by Diamond Dallas Paige.
They get intercepted as David Flair is slammed to the mat and Chris Benoit hits the Diving Headbutt for the win.
WINNER: CHRIS BENOIT
This was every David Flair match I’ve seen. The bell rings and he gets in zero to minimal offense so he’s not exposed to a national audience. [DUD] 0/10
After the match, Chris Benoit challenges DDP for a match at Road Wild in 5 days time.
