I promise this is the last month I link these matches (partially because I really need to move on, and partially because There's only the Bad Blood match I want to leave for next year). So I will have to look for something over the next week to keep a connection going.
Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match.
Trish Stratus makes her way out first, followed by Jazz. JR
is more concerned with how Trish looks than her being challenger to the
championship. Theodore Long is accompanying Jazz to the ring. JR compares him
to Don King, which scares King. Teddy Long has the microphone and puts over
Jazz as the toughest bitch in WWE and demands a standing ovation.

STRATUS
WWE Womrn’s Championship)
WWE Insurrextion (7th June 2003)
They lock up, and Jazz puts Trish in a hammerlock before pushing her away. They lock up again and Jazz works a headlock, using her power over Trish and transitions into another hammerlock before rolling Trish up, but she kicks out quickly.
Jazz takes some time out to celebrate and we
see Teddy Long cheering her on before they lock up again. Trish Stratus brings
Jazz to the mat in a waistlock and rolls her up for 2. Jazz runs into an arm
drag and a hip toss, Trish goes up on Jazz’s shoulders and gets another 2 count
with a victory roll, which King has now decided he loves. Jazz cuts off the challenger
with a kick to the midsection. The pyro has left the arena with a cloud of smoke over
the action. Anyway, Trish is sent off the ropes but she rolls under a
clothesline attempt and hits her own for another nearfall. Trish gets yet another
2 count with a dropkick and decides a flurry of offense might be better. She
connects with forearms backing Jazz into the ropes then chops her “pecs” as JR
says, confusing King. Trish’s chops look really goofy here, Jazz reverses an
irish whip and Theodore Long trips Trish.
Jazz stuns Trish over the top rope and starts
to focus on the neck with elbow strikes. Jazz slams Trish (I think, my Network
buffered) and hits the running leg drop, she covers but doesn’t hook the leg
and Trish kicks out at 2. Jazz hits Trish with crossface strikes and puts her
in a chinlock. Trish makes it to her feet but Jazz brings her down by the hair.
She takes the talk with the referee before going back to the chinlock. Trish
eventually gets back to her feet and uses elbows to get free, Trish gets some
momentum off the ropes and hits the Lou Thesz press. Jazz reverses another
irish whip sending Trish into the corner but misses the Stinger Splash. Trish
rolls Jazz up and gets a 2 count, but Jazz is immediately to her feet. She runs
through Trish Stratus with a clothesline and drags her across the ring before
catapulting her into the middle rope. Jazz brings Trish to her feet, she hits
chops and kicks in the corner before getting a nearfall with a suplex.
Jazz sends Trish into the corner, Trish tries to get her boot up but Jazz is one of the first to expect it, catching the leg and bringing Trish out of the corner with a dragon screw. Jazz puts on a boston crab, walking over Trish instead of turning. Trish is able to crawl to the bottom rope, Jazz holds on for a few more seconds of the count before releasing the hold, Trish Stratus is brought to her feet and sent across the ring, she ducks a clothesline and hits a neckbreaker on Jazz. Jazz is still the first to her feet, barely beating the 10 count, she kicks Trish in the ribs whilst telling her to get up, but gets her wish at Trish Stratus blocks a right hand and backs Jazz into the corner. Trish sends her across the ring but runs into the boot in the corner. Jazz climbs to the middle rope, but she’s still dazed. Trish takes her down to the mat with the headstand headscissors, Trish covers but Jazz kicks out at 2. Trish bends back under a clothesline Matrix-style and hits the Chick Kick! 1, 2, 2.9! We almost miss Jazz cutting Trish off with a jawbreaker, she counters the Stratusfaction into a back suplex and the referee doesn’t notice the shoulders so Jazz covers and only gets 2. That one was Charles Robinson’s fault.
Jazz goes back to the boston crab, Trish rolls through and
they exchange roll-ups, Trish tries the boston crab, then puts Jazz in the STF.
Victoria makes her way down to the ring, followed by referees to bring her away,
but it draws the referee’s attention so Teddy Long can get into the ring and
send Trish Stratus’ shoulder into the ring post, Jazz brings her away from the
ropes and covers for the win.
WINNER: JAZZ (STILL WWE Women’s Champion)
This was just a match to get us to next week’s Bad Blood, Teddy
got some basic heat, but didn’t do enough to be annoying. Trish worked well as
an underdog against Jazz and she was protected well, it was basic but nothing
that was bad and the crowd was behind Trish for the whole thing. [**¼] 4.5/10
