MR PERFECT VS. RED ROOSTER

Jesse Ventura and Tony Schiovane are on commentary for this match. Curt Hennig is already in the ring as Red Rooster (Terry Taylor) makes his entrance. It’s jarring to hear Tony Schiovane getting excited and saying Summerslam.

 

MR PERFECT VS. RED ROOSTER

  The bell rings and they begin shoving each other. Mr. Perfect applies a headlock and takes Rooster into the corner, but he breaks cleanly and backs away. Rooster goes over with an arm drag, then a hip toss before Perfect mocks his gimmick. Red Rooster is sent back to the mat with a fireman’s carry, but gets to his feet and slaps Perfect across the face. Mr Perfect goes downstairs with a knee to the midsection and grabs another headlock. Red Rooster sends Perfect off the ropes, a series of drop downs and leapfrogs from Red Rooster but he lands badly on his knee. He slips out the back of a slam attempt from Perfect, Rooster picks Perfect up but Mr Perfect drops on Red Rooster and gets a nearfall. Mr Perfect stomps on Rooster and hits a dropkick, sending him out of the ring. Mr Perfect gets back on the attack ad Rooster rolls back in, Red Rooster rakes the eyes and Ventura rightly calls him out for it. Mr. Perfect is dumped to the floor but cuts off Red Rooster right a right hand and a chop. Mr Perfect hits a series of rights and sends Rooster’s head into the apron. Mr. Perfect breaks the referee’s count and hits the Perfectplex on Red Rooster as he gets back into the ring, hooking Rooster’s leg for the three count.

WINNER: MR. PERFECT

This was a pretty good match for the time they had. They had to cut it short due to Rooster hurting his knee but it was still serviceable. ** 2.5/10.
