KEVIN OWENS (C) VS. GOLDBERG

On the 6th February episode of Raw, Goldberg challenged Kevin Owens to this match with Goldberg's Wrestlemania match against Brock Lesnar. It was Chris Jericho who accepted on behalf of the champion, promising to have his friend's back. If you don't remember that part of the story, that's because the following week was the Festival of Friendship. The WWE Network timestamp on this is 12 minutes somehow. We start with Goldberg walking from the back with security. He gets to the top of the ramp and we get the sparklers before we hear Michael Cole's voice on commentary. He is joined by Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. Goldberg is undefeated in one on one WWE PPV matches. Kevin Owens makes his way out and Cole says he was 14 when Goldberg started his first WCW Championship reign. He waves the title in Goldberg's face before we get the Special in-ring announcing!

Kevin Owens bails to the floor, stopping the referee from ringing the bell to start the match. He teases getting back in the ring but drops back down to the floor. In an interview earlier Owens said he would outlast Goldberg, Graves thinks he means waiting out Goldberg's intensity. Kevin Owens gets in the ring, but back out before the referee thinks to ring the bell. He walks around for a bit before Goldberg looks to go outside, but the referee keeps him in the ring. Owens gets back inside and tells the referee to ring the bell.

The referee does ring the bell, but Chris Jericho's music has played! Goldberg hits a Spear, then plants Kevin Owens with a Jackhammer to win the Universal Championship!

WINNER: GOLDBERG (NEW WWE Universal Champion)

Completely unnecessary match, the Jericho distraction lead to a Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens match that should have been for the Championship. Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg didn't need the belt, even as a third match between the two..– As a match, it's ½* but personally, I'd rate it 0/10
