Jake Roberts is backstage with Sean Mooney. Roberts is asked if he's bringing a snake to the ring, he says Jack Tunney wouldn't let him. We see him attacking Undertaker with a chair and hitting Paul Bearer with a DDT on an episode of The Funeral Parlour. Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan are on commentary for this match. Jake Roberts enters first, followed by Undertaker and Paul Bearer.
UNDERTAKER VS. JAKE ROBERTS
WWF Wrestlemania VIII (5thApril 1992)
The bell rings and Undertaker stalks Jake Roberts back into the corner, but he darts out, jabbing Undertaker in the ribs. He goads Undertaker into following him across the ring and carries on the stick and move tactic, this time hitting another right to Taker. They don't seem to be having any effect, but Roberts keeps it up. He gets some momentum and hits Undertaker with another right hand. It knocks Undertaker over the top rope to the floor, but he lands on his feet, dragging Jake Roberts out of the ring and sending him into the ringpost. Jake Roberts rolls back in the ring, he hits Taker with a knee lift as he tries to get in the ring. Roberts hits more right hands then sends Undertaker into the corner. Undertaker grabs the top rope to stop himself being sent back, then sends Roberts instead. Jake Roberts tries to get out of the corner but Taker shoves him into the turnbuckles by the throat. Undertaker chokes, the referee counts to 5 but ignores it and starts counting again. Heenan makes a Munsters reference, which was even old at this point, so he switches to Addams Family.
Jake Roberts is sent back across the ring. More choking in the corner from Undertaker, he hits Roberts with a throat strike. Roberts is sent back across the ring, stumbles out of the corner and drops to his knees, which doesn't stop Undertaker using his favourite move... Another choke hold. He forces Roberts down to the mat and hits an elbow drop. Undertaker sends Jake Roberts off the ropes and gets some speed for the flying clothesline. I love Bobby's line about the Urn “what's in there, a loved one? A hated one?” Jake Roberts is brought to his feet, he counters a Tombstone and hits the DDT! Undertaker sits up as Bearer uses the urn, grabbing Roberts by the throat. Jake Roberts breaks out of it with a knee and hits a short-arm clothesline. Undertaker sits straight up! Jake Roberts signals for another DDT and hits it. He decides to leave the ring, going after Paul Bearer, giving Undertaker time to sit up and follow Roberts, Undertaker hits a Tombstone on the floor and rolls Roberts back in covering for the win.
WINNER: UNDERTAKER
This was an OK match. Both guys looked strong in the time they had, Undertaker withstanding 2 DDTs during the match and Roberts plausably could have stopped the Streak ever happening if he hadn't been distracted by Paul Bearer.– As a match it's ** but personally I'd rate it 5/10
