They get to the ring before the introductions. This match is said to be “too violent for Peurto Rico” so Carlos Colon and Abby brought it to the States for Starrcade. Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle are on commentary for the match.
ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER VS. CARLOS COLON
NWA Starrcade 1983 (24th November 1983)
They lock up and Colon has the bigger man against the ropes, scrap that as Abdullah the Butcher has him in the corner, jabbing him with an object from his tights, keeping himself between Colon and the referee. Abby springs off the bottom rope to get momentum on a headbutt, which is as high-flying as he would get in his career understandably. He chokes Colon in the corner, strikes him in the throat and follows with another headbutt. Carlos Colon gets a shot in, but is knocked down with another headbutt and shot to the throat. Abby sends Carlos off the ropes into a clothesline, he hits an elbow drop and covers as this threatens to break into some form of wrestling match. Abdullah gets another shot as Bob Caudle makes a note of his taped hand. Carlon starts fighting out of the corner, backing Abdullah across the ring, he grabs the spike from Abdullah's tights and targets what's left of his forehead. He opens up Abbdullah and bites at his forehead after numerous shots. Even more spike attacks as the referee nicely asks Carlos to stop or some shit. He's right there. Colon pulls the spike into Abby's mouth and bites his forehead. Colon goes back to normal attacks with a knee lift, sending Abdullah into the corner. He's sent into the ropes, Colon hits him in the midsection and another kneelift puts Abby down. Carlos Colon hits a leg drop and covers but Abdullah throws him off at 2. Abdullah is quickly on his feet, he attempts an elbow drop and accidentally hits the referee, he doesn't look too concerned though. Carlos Colon hits him with right hands as Abdullah's getting to his feet and a dropkick sends him back down. Carlos Colon attacks the leg with elbow drops and locks in the figure four leglock. Hugo Savinovich hits Carlos Colon with something, the referee wakes up as Abdullah is covering for the pin and he counts the 3.
WINNER: ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER
This was just a fight. It was a small glimpse for the Main Land fans to see what the Peurto Rican territory had to offer. It wasn't billed or even implied that disqualifications were waived, but it must have been, which then makes the referee bump at the end for Hugo's appearance pointless. – As a match it's * but personally I'd rate it 1/10
