STEVE BLACKMAN VS. PERRY SATURN

The winner of this match faces Edge on Raw next week. (Who's qualifier I reviewed here) Perry Saturn enters first with Terri and Dean Malenko. Which is surprising when we see a recap of Saturn hitting the Wazzup headbutt on Malenko on the previous Smackdown. Jim Ross and Paul Heyman are on commentary and they agree that Saturn is crazy. Steve Blackman is here and Trish Stratus has offered to be his manager tonight, as she has a feud with Terri currently.

STEVE BLACKMAN VS. PERRY SATURN (King of the Ring qualifier)

WWF Raw (11th June 2001)

The bell rings and Perry Saturn looks like he wants to lock up with the referee, but rolls up Blackman, who kicks out at 2.Blackman hits a clothesline to the ribs and sends Saturn into the corner. Steve Blackman hits a dropkick, but Saturn stays on his feet. He avoids being sent across the ring and a knee meets Blackman's ribs. A jumping clothesline and a neckbreaker get Saturn the first nearfall. They exchange chops against the ropes before Saturn brings Blackman into a Northern Lights suplex for another nearfall. Perry Saturn ducks too early for the backdrop so Blackman kicks him, a chop, and kick send Saturn down. Steve Blackman irish whips Saturn into the ropes and hits a spinebuster, drawing Terri onto the apron. Trish gives chase but Terri hides behind Malenko.

We can see the ring again as Saturn is recovering, he drops to the floor, ducks a clothesline and gets a crucifix for 2. Steve Blackman is back on the offense though sending Saturn off the ropes, Saturn blocks the standing spinebuster so Blackman chops him on the way down (unfortunately, it's Great Khali style, but it still looked good.) This time Malenko is on the apron, dropping to the floor as Blackman gets close. Perry Saturn is quick to his feet and lifts Blackman for a Death Valley Driver, but stun guns him on the top rope. Saturn hits his swinging fisherman suplex for the win.

WINNER: PERRY SATURN

It was good for what it was, they got a lot into the short time, but that just made it look like Saturn couldn't sell, jumping up straight away most of the time,– As a match it's ** but personally, I'd rate it 3/10
