QUEEN OF THE CAGE 2008

This match is from TNA (now Impact Wrestling) Lockdown 2008. To those who haven't heard of this match, the competitors start on the outside of the ring, the first two in begin a normal steel cage match, so instead of basing it on the Xscape match, they copy the reverse battle royal from Bound for Glory 2007.

The competitors are; Angelina Love, Velvet Sky (jointly known as `The Beautiful People' Christy Hemme, Jackie Moore, Traci Brooks, Rhaka Khan, Roxxi Laveau & Salinas. They all surround the ring and brawl until two women get into the ring, then the match between them will start.

Christy Hemme enters first, the manager of Rock `n' Rave Infection tag team (Jimmy Rave & Lance Hoyt). Mike Tenay says there's no way she's getting mic time tonight. Salinas is out next, the valet of LAX (Hernandez & Homicide) to keep up the pattern. She would go on to be Ariel in WWECW, making this the second match of hers I'm reviewing under 2 gimmicks. Jacqueline, an 11 year veteran at this point, enters the match to James Storm's music. Don West says she can brawl, which makes her the favourite in the match. Traci Brooks is out next, she's a few years into her career and she's been preparing with Booker T. Is it just me that forgets he had a TNA run. The Beautiful People are out next and they have a history with Roxxi. Rhaka Khan is out next and in my research for the match I saw she was a 2005 Diva's Search competitor, making it into the last 25 according to her Wikipedia. Yeah, that's research for me... It's a start. She's the valet of Scott Steiner & Petey Williams. That leaves Roxxi Laveaux, who worked for Shimmer before this TNA run and would move on to the independents the following year. The rules are announced and they count down from 5 before beginning the match.

QUEEN OF THE CAGE MATCH (#1 Contender TNA Knockouts championship)

TNA Lockdown 2008 (13^th April 2008)

The bell rings with Salinas and Traci trying to climb the cage. Jacqueline pulls Traci down and they pair off. Salinas is crowded by The Beautiful People and someone else. Traci is sent back first into the guard rail. Roxxi is being isolated by The Beautiful People as Traci gets some offense in, sending Jacqueline into the cage. Rhaka Khan pairs off with Salinas, using forearms to the face. Roxxi is sent into the apron by Velvet Sky as Christy attacks Rhaka from behind, it doesn't go well. Velvet Sky and Traci try to climb the cage, Jacqueline brings Traci down as Velvet Sky becomes the first person into the second stage of the match. I'm going to note that impressively it's at this point that Jacqueline loses her hat, because Traci takes it from her head. Angelina Love climbs the cage, as do Rhaka Khan and Traci Brooks. Salinas and Christie bring Khan down and attack with forearms. Jacqueline and Traci both decide to climb up one side as Roxxi follows Angelina and keeps her on the outside of the cage. Roxxi overtakes Angelina Love and we move on to pinfall or submission.

VELVET SKY VS. ROXXI LEVEAUX

They meet in the middle of the ring, Roxxi shoves Angelina and gets one back. Angelina Love hits forearms and tries to whip Roxxi off the ropes. Roxxi Leveaux stays where she is and pulls Angelina into a short-arm clothesline. Angelina Love is sent into the corner, Roxxi hits a running splash and covers for 2. Angelina Love hits a jawbreaker from her knees and a running knee strike stuns Roxxi. Angelina Love runs at her with a jumping clothesline and the vicious head-bash follows. Angelina Love taunts the crowd and they chant for Roxxi, making me think we could have just started with this match. She chokes Roxxi with a scarf then they both avoid getting sent into the cage, Love ducks a clothesline and hits a jumping kick, Roxxi's head thudded on the mat. Angelina Love finally covers, but only gets a nearfall and throws a tantrum.

Angelina Love chokes Roxxi on the middle rope but tries to irish whip her, Roxxi lifts Angelina into a Widow's Peak position but Love escapes and hits the Lights Out. She covers and gets a close nearfall, Love chops Roxxi and tries to irish whip, but Roxxi brings her into a waistlock. Angelina Love counters into her own and sends Roxxi into the ropes, rolling her up, Roxxi kicks out at 2 sending Angelina Love into the cage and hits the Voodoo Drop (a sitout guillotine drop) for the win.

WINNER: ROXXI LEVEAUX

The idea for this match was a shambles. It should have just been Angelina vs. Roxxi or an elimination style match. That aside, Traci and Jacqueline continued/started a feud for the Knockouts division and Rhaka Khan needing two people to bring her down near the end.– [*] match but personally 2/10.

So due to my current situation not having my normal set up for reviews to do them how I'd like. I'm going to switch it up and change over to some NJPW matches for tomorrow and Friday, one Jr Heavyweight and one Heavyweight match.
