BIG CASS VS. ENZO AMORE

In order to complete a trio of event names for WWE in July, I've chosen a match from one of the most inexplicably named events in recent times. (Stomping Grounds, I might get you next year!) The main event of this show is Brock Lesnar defending his WWE Universal Championship against Samoa Joe. Two of the most intense men talking (well, Paul Heyman for Brock) about facing at Great Balls of Fire! Instead, I chose to review a match more suited to the event. Booker T, Corey Graves and Michael Cole are on commentary for this Raw-exclusive event. For some reason, they felt the need to split this team up twice in the build-up to the event. I see a sign saying “Big Casshole” and that would be a great gimmick for him on the indies, shame it's during Enzo's entrance, he rambles his way to the ring but the crowd is into it. He and Cass apparently made their TV debut in this arena. He quotes “That's life” by Frank Sinatra, linking it to his 2017. The crowd eats it up, but I'm just glad I get my money's worth out of The network just with this. Big Cass finally makes his way down, he has pretty generic music but it fits for now.

BIG CASS VS. ENZO AMORE
WWE Great Balls of Fire (9th July 2017)

Enzo Amore charges at Big Cass, but a club to the backdrops him to his knees. Big Cass sends Enzo into the corner but Enzo avoids the right and gets a combination of body shots on Cass in the corner, who tries to cover up. Big Cass shoves Enzo down, Enzo runs into a shoulder tackle, getting flattened. Enzo Amore backs off into the corner but can't escape before Big Cass pummels him. Big Cass traps Enzo's arm and holds a standing neck crank, throwing Enzo around. Enzo doesn't give up so he gets shoved to the mat. Enzo Amore gets to his feet in the corner and connects with a half-hearted kick to the gut. Cass slaps him across the face and sends him to the other side of the ring with a fallaway slam. Enzo Amore gets sandwiched in the corner, he avoids the second by dropping to the mat but Cass is able to stop his momentum. He waits for Enzo to get to his feet, Enzo Amore starts kicking Cass in the gut but falls on his ass. Big Cass brings Enzo to his feet, slapping his face and the ribs before laying him across the corner and clubs his former partner across the back as much as possible, avoiding disqualification. Big Cass kicks at Enzo Amore and chokes him in the corner with his boot. Big Cass lifts Enzo Amore overhead and drops him over the top rope to the floor. They tease a countout but Enzo Amore beats it with less than a second spare, Big Cass runs the ropes and boots Enzo Amore's head into the second row for the win.

WINNER: BIG CASS

This was just an exhibition match for Big Cass. In a perfect world, he could have got something from this, I have no idea why but Enzo was over as hell in this match, I just find his schtick a worse Road Dogg. As it was, it was a harmful match. Nothing looked terrible but they seemed to put more effort into the opening video package than necessary to kill time. As a match, I would give it * ½. Personally, I'd rate it 2.25/5
