RAVEN VS. TOMMY DREAMER

This match is available on WWE Network Hardcore TV Episode #216. Joey Styles is on commentary for this match, billed as the final battle between these two men. Tommy Dreamer has never beaten Raven in 2½ years. I skipped to Raven's entrance but we still have to see the introduction video. Raven has Chastity and Lucus with him from The Flock. Tommy Dreamer has Beulah McGuillicuty at ringside. Joey Styles says the feud all started over her in high school. He is joined by I think, Shane Douglas. Tonight is put up or shut up for Tommy Dreamer. The fans chant “you sold out!” at Raven, who is on his way to WCW. There's a commercial break before the match starts, as we return Lucus is in the ring with a microphone as Styles says Raven has run out of the door. Tommy Dreamer pie-faces Lucus and gives chase through the crowd. Tommy Dreamer sends Raven into a shutter door and brings him back into the crowd. Raven takes a chair across the back and is lead up the bleachers. Tommy Dreamer hits Raven with a bottle and spits the juice in his face, but is thrown from the top of the bleachers through a merchandise table!

Raven went down with him, so he didn't have a soft landing. Raven sets up a piledriver on a table, but it slips out from under them and Dreamer hits the concrete. Raven brings Dreamer over to a raised platform and suplexes a table onto his opponent. Raven sets the table up against the wall below commentary. I see it is Shane Douglas, with Francine. Tommy Dreamer is sent through the table. Tommy Dreamer reverses another piledriver attempt with a backdrop onto the table but it doesn't break. Tommy Dreamer sets Raven up on the table but splashes himself through it as Raven rolls out of the way. They ruin the top of the entrance way sending each other into the guardrail. Raven is crotched on the guardrail before Dreamer brings him back to ringside. It looks like Raven tries to reverse the irish whip, but doesn't have time and he hits the guardrail. A bulldog from Dreamer busts Raven open and they go back into the crowd.

Tommy Dreamer hits Raven with a chair and brings him over the bleachers to the back of the building. Tommy Dreamer sends Raven into the vending machine and begins climbing a ladder, but Raven fights back. Raven sends Dreamer from the ladder onto the vending machine and Dreamer drops to the floor. Raven takes it back to the entranceway and hits Dreamer across the back with a chair before they finally hit the ring.

Tommy Dreamer is sent off the ropes, into a drop toehold and landing on the chair. Raven strikes Dreamer on the mat and calls for another chair. He sets it up and sits Dreamer on the top rope, but Tommy fights back. Tommy Dreamer gets his balance on the top rope, but is sent into the chair. Raven scrambles for the cover, getting 2. Tommy Dreamer is sent into the ropes, he counters a hip toss into a DDT! Tommy Dreamer reaches for a sign from a fan and begins fighting with Raven over it. The referee is hit and it's a loaded sign! Tommy Dreamer reveals the stop sign, hitting Raven over the head with it. Tommy Dreamer piledrives Raven onto the stop sign but Lucus breaks up the cover! Tommy no-sells Lucus and hands him over to Beulah, who hits a DDT. Beulah and Tommy Dreamer pose, Raven rolls Dreamer up but only gets 2. Raven turns his attention to Beulah allowing Tommy to low blow him and roll him up for a nearfall, of course bringing in Chastity. She sprays hairspray at Tommy Dreamer and Raven hits a dropkick, covering for 2 as Beulah waits for the catfight! Raven separates Beulah and Chastity, the latter flees the ring. Beulah low blows Raven setting up a DDT on the sign for a close nearfall. Tommy Dreamer sets up the DDT, but Raven charges him into the referee in the corner. Dreamer hits the DDT for a phantom pinfall but Louie Spiccolli rushes out to attack him. Spiccolli hits a DDT on Tommy Dreamer and places Raven on top. The referee is revived 1, 2, 2.999! Spiccolli brings Dreamer to his feet but the Spiccolli driver is reversed into a DDT. Raven catches Dreamer with a DDT of his own and covers but Dreamer kicks out again! Raven sets up a DDT but Dreamer reverses it into a Death Valley Driver. One final Ddt gets Tommy Dreamer his first victory over Raven.

WINNER: TOMMY DREAMER

This match is an excellent final chapter to the rivalry. However the actual match wasn't for me. The crowd brawling begun to get boring about halfway through and everybody getting involved in the finish took me out of the whole point of the match. Beulah looked dumb waiting for the catfight, with Spiccolli suffering the same taking a nap in the ring at the end..– WORKRATE: *¼ PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 2/5
