THE DUDLEY BOYZ VS. THE USOS

On to the main event of the pre-show (I'm 99% sure that could count as an oxymoron), The Uso brothers Haka on the stage before making their way down to the ring. Jerry “The King” Lawler, Mauro Ranallo and Byron Saxton are on commentary for this match. The Dudley Boyz make their Wrestlemania returns as Mountain Dew gets a shoutout on commentary. These two pairs teamed up in a tables match, which began this feud a couple of months ago, and it's become so vicious and so personal the only place to settle it was the Wrestlemania pre-show!

THE USOS VS. THE DUDLEY BOYZ
WWE Wrestlemania 32 (3rd April 2016)

D-Von starts with the Uso wearing a vest, scratch that as both illegal men come in to start us off with a brawl. Skin Uso is dumped outside by Bubba Ray, leaving Shirt Uso to get double-teamed. Now D-Von and Shirt start, D-Von hits him with right hands into the corner, continuing until the referee backs him off. Commentary hasn't separated the Usos for me yet, Ranallo's going over the Dudley Boyz 9 tag title reigns. They haven't appeared at Wrestlemania since 2004 and have been a team for 20 years this month. D-Von chokes Uso in the corner and brings him back vertical. Uso is sent across the ring, running into a jumping back elbow. D-Von covers for a nearfall. D-Von cranks the neck until Uso gets to his feet. Uso slaps D-Von but pays for his disrespect as he runs into a lariat for D-Von's second nearfall. D-Von grinds his forearm on Uso's face before tagging out to Bubba Ray.

D-Von holds Uso in place for a boot before leaving the ring. Bubba hits Uso with a right hand telling him it's exactly what they did to his father Rikishi (they seriously name dropped him, just in case no one knew.) He hits Uso with another right hand still taunting him, Uso comes back off the ropes but his shot is blocked. Bubba knocks Uso over the second rope and chokes him with all his weight. Bubba carries on hitting Uso and talking to him as King says he should call his own match. Uso's fingers get stomped before Dudley stops him tagging. Bubba's gonna take his time in front of the giant crowd. Bubba brings Uso to his feet but his jab combination is interrupted with a superkick. Uso collapses from exhaustion as the clock shows it's 15 minutes until Wrestlemania time. D-Von and Jey both get the tag (they finally got around to it) and he sends Bubba out of the ring. He hits D-Von with a Samoan drop and he crawls to the corner. The “Uce-oh” chant was a thing at this point, distracting Jey for long enough that he didn't notice Bubba back in the ring. Jey Uso runs into a powerslam and D-Von climbs the ropes. Wazzup headbutt finds the mark, with Bubba tagging out as D-Von's out on the apron.

Bubba has 100,000* fans tell D-Von to “Get the Tables” but The Dudleyz each eat a superkick before he gets a chance. Jey Uso flies from the top rope but D-Von gets his knees up on the splash attempt. A back suplex-neckbreaker gets D-Von another 2 count. Bubba Ray calls for the 3-D from the apron, but Jimmy's back, knocking Bubba out of the ring with a superkick. D-Von knocks him down but Jey ducks a clothesline, superkicking D-Von's old man dentures into the third row. Jey covers, giving the Usos a victory over one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling.

WINNERS: THE USOS

After the match, The Dudleyz attack the Usos from behind and grab a pair of tables from under the ring. Each Uso is set up for a powerbomb but gets out of it hitting, you guessed it, a superkick. Jey almost forgets to put D-Von on the table, but they do end up eating stereo Uso splashes, as payback for February. We get an instant replay before going back to the pre-show panel of Renee Young, Lita, Corey Graves and Booker T, who's happy the Usos are back on track. Renee puts over the attendance as the camera pans over the crowd, Corey Graves says the benchmark Wrestlemania 3 set 28 years ago in the Pontiac Silverdome has finally been passed. The panel runs down the card, with Corey Graves of course shoving the Womens' Revolution down our throat. Renee Young tries to one-up him getting “giant” jokes in whilst mentioning the Andre Memorial Battle Royal. As they get to talking about the main event they pretty much agree that Roman Reigns is universally hated, but find a way to say it without losing their jobs. They get drowned out by the crowd booing Michael Cole upon his entrance. JBL's music hits and he gets a big pop, being a Texan that makes sense. He seems to have a special walk or run for his entrances now he's commentator, which Renee Young wonders if he'll do all the way down to the ring. Corey Graves and Lita both think Triple H will retain tonight, Booker T says Roman Reigns has big shoes to fill and mistakenly said “dynasty” instead of “destiny” catching himself for everyone on Twitter.

*The attendance is always inflated, and being the pre-show I don't know how many had gotten to their seats, but 100,000 was the advertised target. On to the match, it was basic Dudley Boyz brawling, on television you can hear Bubba's shouting and it can add a bit to the match, but it works in a more intimate setting (maybe 750-1,000 people tops) both teams got their stuff in at the end and the younger team went over, getting the rub from legends, no real complaints, just nothing special. – WORKRATE: 1.75/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 2/5 OVERALL 3.75/10
