MATT HARDY VS. JEFF HARDY (FULL METAL MAYHEM)

Matt and Jeff feuded in the WWF in 2001, it wasn't great, they then revisited this idea in 2009, which also wasn't amazing. It seemed they were destined to work together and not against. The world continued spinning however and we entered 2016. Somehow in 2016 something clicked and these two gained chemistry as opponents as if by magic. They faced off at TNA's biggest show in their speciality match.
Reby Sky comes out to the ring to introduce Matt Hardy. She's carrying Maxwell with her, she has a microphone already and says Matt will delete Brother Nero. “The Broken” Matt Hardy. Wow, it was this far into the story, OK. Josh Matthews and The Pope are on commentary for this match. Josh asks if his transformation is over. Jeremy Borash announces Jeff Hardy, and Matt exits the ring, readying himself with a trash can. Jeff still being called Jeff Hardy by everyone but his brother and sister-in-law, I'm confused.
Anyway, Jeff cuts Matt off with a kick to the gut. He grabs the trash can and brains Jeff with it. Another trashcan shot across the back. Jeff still not done, determined to really make that trash can useless, and he gets to higher ground, jumping off the steel steps with the trash can. Jeff sends Matt back in the ring and since there's no tangible prize to hang above the ring it's pinfall and submission. They also count anywhere. Jeff sends Matt into the top turnbuckle but his crazy hairdo gives him Samoan Skull Powers. It has no effect, and neither does the second one. Matt beats Jeff across the ring and sends his head into the turnbuckle, showing him how it's done. Matt charges from across the ring but Jeff cuts him off with a spear! Jeff mounts and hits Matt with rights, Matt escapes the ring, but Jeff follows, nearly catching him with a running dropkick. Jeff sends Matt into the ring post and the steps, before grabbing a table from under the ring. Matt attacks from behind with a kendo stick (neither of which should strictly be allowed, they're wood.) Jeff is sent into the ring post and Matt grabs a ladder. He repeatedly forces it into his brother, squashing him into the ringpost.
Matt takes a moment to admire his work and sets up a table. Jeff blocks a suplex attempt, reversing it into one of his own. Jeff looks for a weapon under the ring, so he throws a trash can full of them at his brother. Jeff finds a massive ladder, and I have no idea how that fit under the ring. Jeff this time using the ladder to force his brother into the ring post, and the last shot he gets a run up before putting the ladder in the ring. Jeff sets Matt up on the table and hits him with right hands and choking him. Jeff back in the ring and he slingshots out, sending Matt through the table. Jeff covers, only getting a nearfall. We get an instant replay as Jeff grabs a chair. He hits Matt over the back with it and s him into the ring. Jeff extends the already large ladder and drapes it over the middle rope across the ring. Matt is back to his feet and using the ladder to stay that way. Jeff hits the Twist of Hate! (Twist of Fate into Stunner.) Jeff drapes Matt over the ladder and climbs to the top rope. Matt Hardy sent through the ladder with a splash! Jeff covers, 1, 2, no!
We get an instant replay as Jeff climbs back to the top. Swanton bomb hits knees! Matt covers Jeff quickly but only gets 2. Jeff tries to create some space but Matt maniacally moves towards him. Matt bites at Jeff's face! Matt hits a loud right, Jeff hits back, and we have a slugfest! Hardy's hits are audible, but Jeff gets the best of it, Twist of Hate! Matt slipped out, and he clotheslines Jeff down! Matt bites at Jeff's ear and moves the ladder. Matthews and Pope basically call Matt insane and say this all happened when Jeff hit him with a Swanton bomb in the Impact Zone. Both Hardys out on the apron, and they exchange right hands. Matt catches Jeff and hits a side effect on the apron! Jeff is out, Matt able to shift his younger brother, but he's dead weight. Matt grabs a freakin' keyboard from under the ring! He also grabs a section of the guardrail, putting the keyboard across from that to the apron. Matt slowly able to set Jeff up for a powerbomb and he crashes into the keyboard! Matt covers, 1, 2, 2.9, Jeff gets a shoulder up!
Jeff takes a break on the floor whilst Matt grabs a ladder from ringside and slides it in the ring. Matt sets up a pair of tables at ringside and he goes to retrieve his still downed brother. They really didn't want Jeff exhausting himself here... Matt puts Jeff on one of the tables for another rest whilst he gets back in the ring and sets up the ladder, Matt climbs but Jeff's off the tables and making his way back to the ring. They meet near the top for more right hands, with Jeff trying to make up the height leverage. The striking exchange causes the ladder to topple and Jeff hits the turnbuckle, Matt hits the top rope on his way down! We get another replay (I've not even mentioned them all and they're annoying me.) Matt's first to his feet, but Jeff isn't far behind, Jeff gets the best of more rights being exchanged and he beats Matt across the ring, Matt trips over the ladder, but still sent across before Jeff knocks him down with a clothesline! Matt back to his feet, he stumbles into an inverted atomic drop. Jeff hits the groin leg drop, and dropkicks a seated Matt! Jeff covers but still only gets 2.
Jeff Hardy calls for it to be over, and he stalks Matt as he gets to his feet. Twist of Fate connects and keeps Matt Hardy down so the Swanton bomb can connect! Jeff Hardy covers but Matt still doesn't stay down. Jeff dropkicks Matt out to the floor and follows him. Jeff grabs a chair but takes time telling fans to move. Since they're dicks and don't want to, Matt cuts Jeff off with a right hand, sending him into the apron. Matt tries to send him into the table, but Jeff blocks it. Matt meets the table though, then Jeff places him on it and climbs up. Twist of Fate sends Matt through the table but I think Jeff knocked the back of his head. Jeff covers for 2. Jeff puts Matt on the other table and chokes him out. Jeff grabs a trash can lid and hits Matt with it. Jeff climbs to the top turnbuckle. Jeff hits a Swanton bomb over the ring post! Jeff slowly covers Matt, 1, 2, 3.
WINNER: JEFF HARDY
From what I gather this match had a simple story. Matt wanted to break Jeff, similar to how he was broken by a previous Swanton bomb, being why that move played such a part in the match. Matt only wanted to hurt Jeff and this cost him the match. It made me want to see more of this feud and further story arc, which was the real test. – Rating: 7.8/10
