NIKOLAI VOLKOFF VS. DYNAMITE KID

Since I got behind again, I'm throwing in some extra reviews. I have 2 more English wrestlers to review, then I'm moving on to the rest of the UK and Ireland. This will all be done by Friday. After which I shall begin a new series to run alternately with my NXT Takeover reviews.

NIKOLAI VOLKOFF VS. DYNAMITE KID (1ST ROUND MATCH)
The Wrestling Classic, 7th November 1985

Both men enter during Adrian Adonis' interview. Dynamite Kid gets an early contender for the pop of the night, and Nikolai Volkoff gets an equal heel reaction for his introduction and he's accompanied to the ring by famous wrestling manager "Classy" Freddie Blassie. Volkoff sings the Soviet National Anthem, to a chorus of boos, the bell rings as he finishes up and Dynamite Kid climbs to the top, he hits a front missile dropkick and pins Volkoff before walking to the back. 1 down, 3 to go.

Not a lot to say about this match, well, move really. Dynamite Kid was able to give the fans an early highspot and a quick result. It makes sense with having a maximum of 4 matches by the end of the night that Dynamite wanted to conserve energy. However, due to lack of content, it means it's going to get a low rating by default. However I popped for it big time sat at home, and it was good seeing a British favourite of mine getting through the first round. National Anthem took up 99% of the segment.– Rating: 1.9/10
